Calzaghe vs Byron Mitchell, i think i was stood up swinging at the telly with Joe lol That was the night i become a huge fan of Joe, before that he was just that guy who was likely to get sanked as soon as he stepped up in class.

 

yeah the two against Collins were great.

Actually, for me, this is hands down the event, sporting or otherwise, that I have ever attended.

The day, the card, the atmosphere, the crowd, the fight, the knockdowns, the comeback - if you wrote it out people wouldn't believe you.

cotto vs margo, after the first knockdown cotto gets up and when it shows a close up u can see blood dripping down and you know the fight was going to end

after hatton got sparked by pacquiao, hatton lying there and his handlers turning his head that was bad to see

 

So many to mention.... but when I went to see Calzaghe face Kessler at the millemium stadium, it was one exciting night.

 

I could never forget the welsh fans actually crying when Haye knocked out Enzo Mac at the O2 arena. They were the same ones shouting out racial abuse at Haye one round before.

 

Frochy 12th round against taylor. Don't think my voice has ever been the same!!!

 

Oh and Ottke Reid. Took me about a month to calm down from that decision (if I have)!!!

Tyson vs Lewis/Williams/McBride - I was only young at the time (and very much a casual fan) and was a massive fan of Tyson. When going into the Lewis fight I thought all Tyson's losses were like the 2nd Holyfield fight! So when Lewis dominated him and stopped him I was gutted. Ditto for the other 2 losses.

Hatton vs Mayweather - Again, was gutted to see Hatton stopped. After about 6 rounds I knew he wasn't going to win, but I was willing him on to last the distance.

Cotto vs Margo - This time it was happiness. I was a fan of Margarito going into this fight (not anymore I may add) and I thought it was a lost cause after he was outclassed for 6 rounds by Cotto. But when Margo caught up to him in the 7th I literally jumped out of my seat willing him on! This continued for the next 4 rounds :yep

Truscott vs Simpson II - A mixture of being happy and sad. I was sad that Truscott was stopped, but the way he showed heart to keep battling on made me happy that he was representing the North-East :yep

Plenty of others like Haye vs Mormeck/Enzo/Valuev, Hopkins vs Pavlik, Calzaghe vs Lacy, Calzaghe vs Lacy, JuanMa vs Mtagwa etc.

 

I'm glad you mentioned the Williams-Tyson fight. I know they Tyson was past his best but come on! this Danny Williams knocking out the once 'baddest man on the planet!', it was a very memorable moment for me.

 

I also found Pacman's dismantle job against De la Hoya so inspiring as som many thought Oscars size would just be too much for the then small lightweight Pacquiao. It just seemed like this what Oscar gets for trying to be the big bully in the build up.

What a night! I was proper cheering and dancing at home at 4am. The missus wasnt best pleased.

If Froch vs Kessler is half as epic I'll be happy!
