The worst performance of Pavlik's career came against a much smaller man. Your theory really does not fit the facts.
So basically your banking on Kelly getting his ass kicked for 11 rounds, and getting lucky in the 12th? Cause thats exactly what happened in Bute-Andrade 1. Besides its all a mute point. Bute showed in the rematch that he's a light year ahead of the punching bag known as Andrade.
The Martinez performance was way better then the Hopkins fight. If Pav didn't get cut in the 9th he could have maybe kept the pace he had going in the middle rounds and might have won a decision. Against Hopkins he just got shut out.
Sort of true, but Martinez ain't no BHop. The level of performance is proportional to the level of competiton. One also has to consider the fact that Pavlik missed no fewer than 12 opportunities to land flush right hands on Martinez in the first 3 rounds alone, and spent most of his time head hunting even when he was winning rounds.
What are you, 13? No self respecting grown man would put somebody on an ignore list. Your like a teenage girl.... and Pavlik is the star quarterback that you have a crush on.
There is evidence if u know where to look... The length of his fights are impressively short against rugged foes... Where I think you're right though is the outside Qc issue. Bute is a shy guy, I saw him being affected by the diaconu fight as well as being shy on the camera before the fight. This tell us that psychically he can be influenced by outside overwhelming public events...
Pavlik would be, without a doubt, the best fighter Bute has fought. However, I see a huge stylistic advantage for Bute.
Can not judge a boxer by one fight, ward took 12 rounds with miranda... but he's for sure better than that...
Marked up under both eyes against Brinkley. He's far from invincible...That said...Bute, TKO10 Pavlik. Or something.
