I wouldn't be certain that he'd stop Ward.

    Interesting times ahead at 168.

Pavlik has the best chin in boxing. You just can't hurt him.

To make me laugh like a deranged hyena, thats why.

And to give his pathetic nuthuggers on here more reason to hide in the shadows, crying for a few months.

he's never been a one punch ko artist. its more accumulation of very solid, well placed power shots that has done everyone in that has been ko'd by kelly.

after the mckart fight, bronco said that its not that he's the strongest puncher in the world but every single punch he throws has something on it....(something to that effect).

if he can't learn to take a step back when lucian jumps in and then step back forward with a counter then he very well may get stopped. if your gonna stalk your guy around the ring you can't just stand there and block the shot w/ your face when he jumps in. taking a step back will at the minimum take steam off your opponents shots and put you in a better position to defend follow up shots and throw counters. kelly hasnt done this at all.

if he just stands there when lucian attacks he will not be in position to:

    a) be able to defend against the inevitable follow up left uppercut or

    b) throw effective counters of his own before lucian bounces back out of range.

this is the footwork aspect that bigbone was referring too and i agree 100%. kelly can make this a fight if he wants too.

the way kelly has fought the last few fights compared to bute...the answer is clearly bute. its gonna be on kelly to right the ship and come with something more than he has lately.

hardly. from TR though...clearly. kelly says he doesnt think he can make 160 anymore after the martinez fight, then goes on vacation.

TR then starts throwing around the idea of jcc jr at 160 despite kelly not really having any input...then start talking bute at 166? all the while kelly's manager is screaming mad that TR isnt doing **** for kelly to the point where duncan even tried to get kelly out of TR's contract.

HBO and TR have a history of good success $$ wise and this seems to be there way of cashing kelly out and pumping up bute at the same time. its business.

this is all an academic debate as of now b/c if kelly can still make 160 safely after the vera fight that is where he is gonna go.

Pavlik has been exposed. He's not good at middleweight category, not good at SMW and now he tries at 166 catchweight. Its time for him to retire and Bute is the person who will help him make this decision.

Let's not forget Bute has a borderline Glass Jaw. He was knocked out by sloppy slugger Librado Andrade only to get a gift from a corrupt ref.:rofl:patsch

Plodder Pavlik is a complete wardrobe of a fighter with the turning circle of a JCB, but he can punch and if he lands, Bute's Chin is getting Shattered. :deal

You have a special talent. So many false things in a so short post is astonihing. You're a champ. You should proclaim yourself the president of Bute's hater club. :good

:lol::lol: You were saying exactly the same things before the Martinez fight! Butes style is a nightmare for Pavlik, quick, slick, southpaw with power... Pavlik should be looking to rebuild not take this kind of fight, and I doubt he would be feeling confident at all considering he got his ass handed to him by a light middle!

Brinkley lasted nine because he isn't a bad fighter and Bute is a boxer first, he takes his time and when he saw the opening he took him out. The guy has 6 knockouts in his last seven fights so he obviously isn't doing that badly.

Pavlik eats up fighters who keep their hands by their waist.
