Don't add to this ridiculous post anymore because it's quite evident that your supposedly perfect debate record will crumble in the ditch...and it's irrefutable the post makes you look like a hardcore minion ! :hey

If Kelly throws left hooks and / or straight rights, not set up by the jab, he will land. By the time he throws his jab or 2, then his right, Bute will be out of arms way, just like Martinez and Hopkins were. Lead right power shots Kelly!!

Younger and fresher, yes. But in all fairness. Bute did beat them more convincingly. So it evens out. :tong

    Miranda:
Pavlik win TKO7 in an all out brawl.
Bute knocks out Miranda with one punch in the 3rd round and Miranda only lands 13% of his power punches in the fight.

    Zuniga:
    - Pavlik (TKO9 and Pavlik gets knocked down)
    - Bute (TKO4 and Zuniga doesn't even land a single significant punch)

    Who's the third opponent? :huh

sergio performed brilliantly and deserves to be champ...but i do feel a healthier pavlik performs better down the stretch. i can't say he would have won but it certainly would have been a different fight. but that's on kelly...if he can come into camp for vera under 178 then there is no excuse for coming into camp at 195 for martinez.

the way kelly fought against martinez...plug in bute for martinez and it may not go to the cards. that's not a knock on sergio at all. rather, its stating the obvious that bute packs a helluva lot harder punch.

I agree!!! Brinkley stunned him twice and if was a lil more skilled could have koed him. Pavlik seals the deal and gets bute out of there. Just my opinion guys. PEACE!!!!

The 3rd common opponent was Rico Cason. He was never more than a so-so journeyman. Pavlik stopped Cason when Cason was on a winning streak. Bute fought Cason after he hadn't won a fight in years.

And the quality of Pavlik's wins over Zuniga and Miranda was WAY better than Bute's. What you did in your post is almost as bad as if I claimed Pavlik's win over McKart was as good as Winky's first win over McKart.

Well whatever, It really won't matter. It is just a bad matchup for Kelly, unfortunately. Ok he had weight issues against Sergio, and was sick before Hopkins, but the two times he fought slick boxers he was beaten pretty bad, and Lucian hits harder than anybody Kelly has ever been in a ring with.

I can't argue against that. You merely stated the obvious. A Bute/Pavlik fight is almost like watching Jermain Taylor take the rematch with Pavlik when I knew damn well he shouldn't.

ya gotta remember that everytime pavlik went over 160 he didnt look so great, i thought the easiest to see was tween taylor I and II, he didnt seem nearly as strong or solid imo, then theres the hopkins fight as well. the martinez fight just showed he had no plan b

Your involuntary right. Bute was stunned twice by Brinkley in that fight:

Once when he got up from the uppercut to the body (when after 4-5 seconds in the neutral corner he start walking by the side of the ring with his hands high )

And second time when he got up from the uppercut to the head(Bute actually took his mouthpiece out after that thinking it's over)

this is inaccurate. the first couple rounds of taylor II were very bad for jermain and if he didnt pull his left hand up it wouldnt have lasted the 7 rounds the first fight did. jermain ended up fighting one of the better fights ive seen him fight and as a huge taylor fan ive seen most of his fights. pavlik also came very close to stopping him w/ a left hook to the body in round 11. jermain admitted to being hurt bad by it.

the hopkins fight was not the weight. it was hopkins. period.

very reliable sources stated they've never seen kelly hit the mitts and the bag as hard as he was when he was around 175ish during the martinez fight camp. it was the last 5-6lbs he just couldnt shed. of course that's with him trying to come down from 195. he came into the vera camp at 177 so we'll see how he feels.

bottom line is this...at 168 kelly will be stronger than he's probably been for a fight in a very long time. that doesnt guarantee anything, especially against the likes of lucian bute...but a lack of strength will not be the reason kelly doenst win should he not win. you can take that to the bank.
