It is not. As the fighters at the very top Pac and Mayweather have the responsibility to carry boxing on their shoulders. Even if I don't buy it, John Smith, Alejandro Castillo, Shawn Brawn still going to after watcing that glorified advertisement called 24/7, and boxing loses fans/paying customers every single time they cough out $55 for one-sided disappointments. That's what kills boxing. *******s like to put their figher in the position where he carries boxing while Floyd cherry picks from his throne - guess what, Pac reminds me of Floyd more and more every day.

I still have the utmost respect for both when they step into the ring, my critique is simply from a larger standpoint. Pac could've fought Berto, a competitive fast paced fight at WW, JMM at 140 which surely is a highly competitive match-up and a huge seller or maybe Martinez at 154, which could be too much to ask, just don't call yourself the LMW champ if you don't fight one.

You're saying if you see bad things happening in the world, just turn off your TV and problems solved. They are not.

With the man you have as your avatar, you have no right to accuse other people of cherry-picking.

The Clottey fight was a result of Pac-May breaking down, and it was set up as a keep-active fight due to his political aspirations that ensued in the months that followed. So I have no complaints for that fight being what it was.

Then the Margarito fight, again was the result of Pac-May breaking down. We all know Margarito was second choice to Mayweather, and when it was confirmed that Maywether had no "urge" to get back in the ring, Pacquiao settled for a guy who would at least generate a healthy amount of money.

    Well said.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with Clottey because he needed someone to step in and his options were limited, it was still a **** choice of opponent but I let that one slide.

Then he fought Margarito, what the hell had Margarito done to deserve that fight? This is a guy who's last great fight was 2 and a half years earlier and that one was surrounded in controversy after we found out he was a cheat, since then he got completely blown away by Shane Mosley, banned for a year for attempting to cheat and looked less than impressive in his comeback fight against a D level opponent.

Now we have Mosley, a guy who's last great performance came a month after Pacquiao beat De La Hoya, since then he got completely schooled by Mayweather and plodded to a draw against a C level fighter in Mora.

Yet for some reason people see Pacquiao as fighting the best, if those deteriorated boxers are the best then boxing must really be going through a **** period.

Pac has paid his dues. Give him a break. He's entitled to have easy fights once in a while. And Shane is as sweet as honey money for Pac. :good

I think the bigger, no, the biggest issue is the Top Rank-Golden Boy fiasco. This entire situation essentially turned Golden Boy into Top Rank's *****, and that's the worst thing that can happen to boxing.

His credibility has taken a huge hit, that's for sure. But Mayweather bounced back by fighting Mosley after the sham against Marquez. Pacquiao is bound to do the same. Though, having said that, maybe 'might' is a better word than 'bound' here.

Well, the TS is the first person who is against this fight because of the damage it might cause on a shot fighter...I disagree with this side of it. With that logic, Marciano loses credibility for beating up a shot Joe Louis, and Holmes for beating up an extremely shot Ali...

Mosley is shot, but he isn't that shot...if he was, he wouldn't have went the distance with FMJ, and Mora. That's the way I look at it, anyway...

The stage for a mosley-shock/upset-win is perfect, although unlikely.

I want to see Mayweather - Berto.

Personally I don't hate on either fighter for doing what they do. They're there to make money, its a business first in many respects. I respect floyd for not wanting to fight pacquio. If he feels pacquiao could do him some serious damage, then he shouldn't have to fight. Floyd's whole philosophy is don't get hit, limit damage. A fighter like pacquiao is obviously incongruous to this method.

As for Pacquiao, yeah, its not great fighting Shane. But Pacquiao is a world champ. You can choose to cherry pick if you want, you have earnt it. Likewise, its getting late in his career, why take fights that could be potentially damaging? Make a good payday without too much risk, big deal.

If you dont like it, dont watch it, simple. Its not fair, but again, this is just how the system works. Dont moan as if whats happening is morally wrong or something.

I bet Mosley goes down by the 5th round latest, he has got nothing to prove and no likelihood of winning, he must be severely deluded.
