    You've all seen them.

With their impressively padded records of 23-3, or 24-4 with a high knockout ratio when they go up against less teak tough Ghanians (or boxers from African countries)

At face value, you wouldn't want to pick a fight with any of them, they're usually muscly ripped speciman's of men. That look like they live in the gym.

However, when it comes to boxing their style is perhaps less than exciting, an awkward jab and a safety first cautious approach that doesn't befit their record usually makes for very tentative first rounds, that means they do not live up to the billing as power punching machines.

In many cases, when they come over here, they can often last the distance without ever really making any of our fighters sweat too hard, occasionally they can provide a stern test and once in a blue moon they might win.

It's a win win situation if you use them as a promoter as they're often cheap, decent looking record as a sound bite, and not a tough match.

But now it seems that tougher VISA restrictions means that less of these fighters will visit these shores in the future.

As someone who has covered boxing for a regional newspaper a certain King Davidson who fights in Southampton, had two fights cancelled with Ghanian foes, due to "visa issues".

Now Frankie Gavin's latest opponent suffered the same fate, are we going to miss the TTG? Or will Brazil and Argentina be the new foreign import area, providing Hearn and a certain Mr W with a vast array of aggressive, overmatched fighters with pretty records but very little quality.

The TTG has been an ESB saying for years. My god, did I even use the word black or anything derogatory in the post?

Just ignore him. He's probably trolling you. I think its a good post and the South Americans will be the new boxers that come to the Uk.

Seriously? That just annoys me as to me I hate racism, yet I discuss boxers from Ghana and get labelled a racist by some random idiot who can't even back up why they will report me for it.

Thanks for the headsup Sandman. :thumbsup

I didn't mention Amir Khan, and you haven't even explained how my post is in anyway racist. Unless you actually state your case in reference to my post, you can't go around reporting people for no good reason, other than the fact some previous arguments with other posts in unrelated threads have annoyed you.

It's sad that you can't even defend or explain why you did that, but I'm sure if it made you feel good then great. Perhaps you could use your (or lack of) boxing knowledge and get involved in the debate, for which this thread was started for.

Now they are calling spaniards or Spain-based fighters, usually on short notice, as Abigail Medina, Karim el Ouazghari, Santi Bustos, Ivan Ruiz Morote, Reynaldo Cajina, etc

If you call someone a racist you should explain why you call him that, otherwise you're just being shown up and the fact that everyone agrees with me, would indicate that you don't have a leg to stand on.

If I were to call you a pedophile, without any facts to BACK it up, then surely you would want to know why.

Do you know what defamation is?

Here you go, as you probably don't.

"Defamation is an act of communication that causes someone to be shamed, ridiculed, held in contempt, lowered in the estimation of the community, or to lose employment status or earnings or otherwise suffer a damaged reputation. "

Secondly, Publication may consist of a writing, printing, picture, effigy, or other fixed representation to the eye, which is communicated to another. - You posted it on a public forum.

I noticed that on the last Hearn bill, they're very durable and aggressive fighters, usually very confident to take centre of the ring and press the action. They tend to have strange records, a lack of knockouts and points defeats, but I'd say are generally a slight step up from the TTG.

It's also easier for a matchmaker to find Youtube footage of them, sometimes a TTG is an unknown quantity, and can actually be much better than initially feared. Instances of this can be Joshua Okine and also Munyai.

Guys like Yakubu Amidu are still legit TTG, gave Ricky Burns and Juan Carlos Burgos hell, has been unlucky in some decisions, his style looks very awkward and off balance but he is strong as hell, hits hard, and despite not looking much to the eye always seems to give guys a hard time

Yakubu is a solid gate keeper but if anyone saw his fight with Kim and Burgos he does ship alot of punishment and has an iron jaw. I hope he isn't fighting for too much longer because he's been in some horrific wars.
