Of Celts and Vikings
A story be told
they've come so far
for either to now fold

Both had belief
you could see it in their eyes
legions of fans
brimming with pride

Two Titans will clash
and each will know pain
For neither winner nor loser
Will it be in vain

Punches were traded
It was almost barbaric
But more often than not
The skill flowed like magic

The fight had ended
and the winner stood tall
No longer a mere Viking
he was now, truly King

 

Why thank you. This thread is actually quite good. Makes you actually think instead of repeating the same bull**** over and over again.

Some very good stuff in here. Both serious and humorous so you deserve credit for that:good

 

I've just read a couple of your poems. That first one will be very hard to top. It's very good, although you came close with the Roman General one. Very close.:thumbsup

Alas, all we can do is but try

 

He lived amongst the Valleys,
"I've seen him on TV before",
But little did they know,
That He was China_hand_Joe

He runs the hills each morning,
Up valleys and mountains so steep,
For 36 minutes just twice a year,
But memories we longer keep

For a decade He's been the champion,
Knocking all challengers aside,
They came, they lost, He conquered all,
He is Wales' best pride

He sought a lasting legacy,
So Lacy came and went home sorrier,
But the fans, they wanted more,
And called for the Viking Warrior

And so it came to pass,
That the deal was finally done,
And personally I really hope,
That HBO doesn't let them fight after one!

There'll be fireworks and singing,
Cheering and despair,
For the fallen champion,
There'll be damage to repair

But who will the winner be?
Many think they know,
Deram, the-best will pick Mikkel,
But I'm with China_hand_Joe

everybody knows that kessler brings the power&calzaghe brings the skill
yet there all still surprised when joe lands at will
mikkel fights on bravely but has no success
then finally the world accepts that joe is still the best

Its taken some time, now the Viking sets out
to rain on the Nordic conquering drought

In Wales no one could ever know
that the Warrior comin' would put on a show
When he came to the coast
JC fans would boast
"The Stallion's ATG, you know"

The Viking said " What do I care"
"I'm younger, I'm stronger, my talent is rare"
"My punch ain't no slap"
"I ain't talking crap"
"When I'm done in Cardiff, the Stallion's a mare"
