Waiting drenched coming of train. Murmurs pathing through the rain. Eager "Hellos - are you going too?" Not joining in, head bowed to shoe. Settled aboard hyped chatter loud. Resounding of brew among the crowd. Early of day, eyes close tight. Long it be till coming of fight. Splashing of water on the ship. Liquid bought for the trip. Laughter drowned by a belch. Not saving up for the welsh. Passing of time reach of shore. Time to leave beverage store. Flocking about danes we are. Fakely horned for our star. Land of mist coming of sun. Stumbling for train in a run. Sheep replace noisy cars. Puke by one we call Lars. Heavy stench in the wagon. Lighting of the magic dragon. Wisps of smoke all around. This is fun, spinning ground. Here we are let it commence. Ticketless hopping of fence. Boring fights more to drink. Welsh apart from missing link. Now it comes, cheers in crowd. Need to sleep coming of cloud. Hours pass, waking knock. Missed it all, "what the ****".
Let us hope that the evening will prove more memorable than you are banking for - an for the right reasons, too!
I think the poem creates a stong sense of setting and ambiance. The descriptions are raw and economical - the rhythm - jittery swaying - that is why it was so effective in making me feel sick! A great poem.:good :happy :happy :happy
You have got me used to really quite high quality stuff, so I am not even blinking anymore when I come across the gems that you lay out for us!:bart
:guitar - Well you, Dekkers and New Wind started it - so I better keep up . Thanks for the encouragement. The entire thread is packed with high quality., even from posters in their first try.
