The ESB Classic viewpoint on Bernard Hopkins...

I am a big Hopkins phan...yet, I wish he would RETIRE!!! While I scored the 2 taylor fights draws and not loses, I have not been overly impressed by Hop in the past few years outside of the tarver fight, and admittedly while I think Tarver was a good win, he seemed not to be himself for whatever reason people can come up with. Calzaghe seems to be under rated amongst some and wildly overrated among another group. I think they are both great and that neither has much to gain and calzaghe has more to lose.

If Calzaghe wins..B-Hop was old
If Hopkins wins...calzaghe was an overhyped euro
If Hopkins loses...he was to old
if calzaghe loses...proves that he was overhyped, losing to an old man.

Not necesarily my veiw, but will be common arguments either way! I wish they had fought 3 years ago (Kinda like Hop and RJJ now..who cares!). Calzaghe impresses me against ??????? opposition. B-Hop while not nearly as aggresive as he once was, still is a defensive mastermind to take anyone off their game, and make them fight his fight.

Even at his advanced age I would pick a Hop close decision...would not be surprised to see calzaghe edge it either...Personally wish B-hop would retire and calzaghe and Pavlick would get it on.

Having said that I rank him top 5 MW of all time (win or lose)....just my take
