I just can’t see past the weight difference. Benn is fighting at 160 for the first time, Eubank Jr is also his first half-decent opponent who isn’t completely shot to pieces. Even with the 170lb hydration clause, Eubank wins comfortably imo.
I've never been a huge fan of this fight tbh. I think it's a cash in based on their father's legacies, rather than a serious bout. Almost like a pro level misfits fight, if that makes sense. That said, Eubank jnr has been on fire in the build up. As for the fight, I see Benn starting fast but eventually tiring. Eubank late tko or a corner pull out
E-Hearn says Benn will come in about 162lbs and CEJ 175-180lbs Er. Benn weighed 170 the morning of the fight against Peter Dobson and that was at 150 catchweight and CEJ says he usually comes in at 174 so how much weight difference will there really be between them in the ring? I'm not disputing CEJ is naturally bigger and has the bigger frame but FTR 170 is career MW GGG's average fight night weight so is Benn really a natural 147 pounder?
Eubank jnr to ride out the early start from henn, catching him with clean counters and fast uppercuts. Henn will start tiring from about three rounds in, then reality will set in and his panic stricken face will be there for all to see, with the crowd and viewers loving seeing him about to get his come uppance. Eubank jnr will sense this and in between rounds will have a sip of water and a cadburys cream egg whilst stood up throughout. Henn can then be heard shouting dad dad what do I do, to which Nigel will say have a double decker son have a double decker because you are better than him, you don't need no cream eggs. By round six henn will be almost on empty as Eubank peppers him with jabs and uppercuts and stops him...
Even if Benn isn't a natural 147, he certainly doesn't seem that powerful. Depends on whether he's had any eggs on the morning though. Honestly, this bout just seems a farce to me. I just can't see how Benn can do anything to Eubank here. I'm predicting Eubank mid round KO after easing himself in however he wants.
I've had a sneaking feeling for a long time now that Benn is going to stop him but I feel less confident of that the closer we get to fight night On one hand, he hasn't stopped either of the guys he fought at LMW since he got busted for taking performance enhancing eggs so he shouldn't, in theory, be able to get MW/former SMW CEJ out of there But on the other, apparently he's been looking great in sparring beating up Scull and Surace and he might be catching CEJ at the right time. I don't read anything into CEJ avenging his loss to Liam Smith because Smith was a useless cripple in that fight and was clearly in no fit state to fight But hopefully he still has enough left and will be strong at the weight and he will catch Benn coming in and knock him spark out.
Wait, seriously? Is Benn on some new free range concoction or something? Hopefully this is one of those times when sparring doesn't reflect in the fight
Eubank may meed to weigh in a pound or two under 160 to ensure he doesn't rehydrate above170. Starting to wonder whether Eubank will bother trying to comply with the stipulated weight limitations, when they are clearly there to jeopodize his chances of winning. Perhaps he will do a Garcia?
Probably. It could be BS but E-Hearn said he's been receiving reports after every spar and that they are extremely happy about how he's been looking in sparring and that the rumours are true and I didn't get the impression he was lying,
I have a feeling that this fight is going to let down a lot of the casuals who will tune in. I am predicting a boring decision win for Eubank with little action.
I think the weight cut and hydration clause will effect eubank so I like Benn to win but I can see him being outboxed by eubank because he’s too invested in this fight emotionally and will be fighting very angry and the Eubanks know this
