He lived in 5* hotels for five years, bizarrely. No doubt he had money stashed in ISA's in Dubai banks
I think Eubank was a broken man for a bit after his first wife left him and family fell apart. Stayed out of the public eye for years.
John was a ledge. Beat Malinga who beat Benn who beat McClellan who beat Jones Jr who beat Ruiz who beat Holyfield who beat Tyson who beat Holmes who beat Ali who beat Archie Moore. Can't argue with that. Carl Thompson was more skilled than Archie Moore.
Jarvis was also better than Wilfred Benitez. I'll prove it. Beat Malinga who beat Benn who beat Barkley who beat Hearns who beat Duran who beat Leonard who beat Benitez. Not convinced? Beat Malinga who beat Benn who beat McClellan who beat Jackson who beat Norris who beat Leonard who beat Benitez. Either way it's factadocious.
Back in the 1990s I used to feel he didnt fight the top Americans ..nunn,jones jnr,toney...or even a julian jackson...i used to feel well benn fought far better americans like mclellan and barkley and Dewitt and Sims...that lindell holmes, ron esset and tony thornton were not as good......but Eubanks was an enigma...his championship career consists of 3 huge fights vs benn and watson...followed by 5 years of coasting in general with guys not worthy of a title shot..than it ending with those titanic epics of courage against Thompson ... Eubanks was an entertainer..and the unexpected did happen in his career...i dont think that as a whole...considering eubanks a top 15 uk p4p guy is totally risible....yes he avoided americans in general especially the very best...but i think that was the businessman in him....his money spinning wbo reign was quite pioneering...once hed gained that wbo bauble he preffered money and selling the spectacle over the spartan competition aspect.....in that sense he was a pioneer and paper champion....but on his best day..backed into a corner and asked to fight the best i reckom he couldve handled guys like jackson, barkley, roldan, frank tate,olajide.....but i totally appreciate your view....he couldve at least fought one american consistently in the top 12 at 160lbs...holmes and esset were also rans
Its a terrible irony....the intelligent and mature blows the money on foolish whims and trinkets...and the immature supposedly obnoxious and ill educated hamed builds a vast property empire of 80-90 properties that has only multiplied and multiplied his income
