Bit much........I think you need to rewatch the fight, it was certainly competitive and the first three rounds were edge-of-the-seat stuff. If GGG had any less of a chin or was slightly less conditioned he'd have been taken out. Props to him for powering through but this 'sacrificial lamb' talk is embarrassing.
People less eccentric than English have been sectioned under the mental health act. I don't rate Junior that highly, reasonable engine and a come forward style, but his boxing skills are very average and we've yet to see how his chin stands up against a puncher. Lets face facts, had Junior been promoted by Hearn, he'd have been a very rich man by now
Whilst it pains me to say it your right. Eubank was a fighter never a promotor. If he wanted his son to be rich he should have just swallowed his ego.
"The no.1 middleweight in the UK" - ITV have started already. It's disgraceful really. Not only is BJS a legitimate world title holder, he also has a recent win over Eubank Jr. They must be the only ever team to have come out of a comprehensive defeat in a world title challenge acting like they're the A side. I have no idea how this happens? The ITV card is unsurprisingly shocking and Sr has suggested on twitter it could be 20 pounds for the PPV. Serious question; will this break 4 figure PPV buys? I don't know how anyone who has any fraction of knowledge on the sport could buy this? And why would any of the general public pay 20 pounds to watch boxing? I just don't get it. It has to completely flop! Someone please assure me that this farce completely flops! The tragedy in all of this is that they're completely ****ing up a great opportunity. If this fight was on terrestrial TV after good promotion it could have done excellent viewing numbers building up Jr. This followed by one or two more terrestrial shows leading up to a legitimate PPV world title fight for a cheaper price than sky could have seen the Eubanks do fantastically well without matchroom or Queensbury. Instead they've put this farce together and messed it up for themselves. It's like putting a good 14 year old footballing prospect straight into a senior premier league match.
yup, especially as he's fighting at super middleweight. Honestly wish hundreds report them to ofcom over that, even Hearn wouldn't come out with something that bad
You will all eat your words, when this does 150k +, stop being hearn and joshua fanboys, u should be happy that someone has ****ed the hearns and warren over for once
Don't see why everyone is complaining. It seems like a good event to me, I've never seen a boring Eubank Jr fight.
Of corse he was, all the money sky will have put in on advertising for the Eubanks, and eddie hearn couldn't make the fight, all eddie had to do was dangle the carrot to brook and he took it, Barney francis would have been fuming if eddie couldn't have made a September ppv, eddie is a go-for, for sky, but u dumb sheep follow, kell was thrown to the lions just so eddie could save his own back
Decided to watch the fight and type out how I saw it to see if you were right with the lamb to to the slaughter reference. 1st round, I felt Brook edged it. GGG was getting hit way too easy. GGG hardly moves his head. 2nd round, Brook showed how easy it is to hit GGG and won the round. 3rd round, GGG at this point was frustrated and losing his way, clearly wasn't used to hitting a target that actually moved and hit back. However, once he fractured his eye, Brook still gave it a go. It was draw that round imo. 4th round, Golovkin swinging wildly again, missing lots and hitting gloves. Brook scored a few great blows with GGG marching forward and landing a few although difficult to split them. 5th round, Golovkin clearly on top, too strong from the off, Brook's knackered eye bothering him yet still dodging wild swings by GGG and taunting him. GGG starts landing and the towel comes in. Sorry mate, but I disagree with you. A fractured eye socket can occur in any fight. Brook was really unlucky with that and he was embarrassing GGG for a time even with that injury. You're doing Brook a huge diservice. It was a really good fight whilst it lasted and Ingle was right to throw the towel in. Probably shouldn't have even let him go out there in the 5th and given GGG the opportunity to finish him off and maintain this aura of invincibility he seems to have.
