The Event: Pacquiao vs. Clottey Round by Round

Round 2

Medina ducks under a series of Duddy jabs. Duddy having major accuracy issues in the first thirty seconds. It seems equal parts due to nerves on his part and fluidity on Medina's. They're still trading jabs, the difference is that Medina is throwing it without squaring up and is moving his head as he jabs. Medina covers up as Duddy tries to attack the body and Medina backs him off with a can opener hook to the top of the head. Duddy lands a good three punch combination, all three only glancing though. Medina lands a right and a hook before the bell, but they were his 3rd and 4th power punches that I saw.

Duddy took this one by taking it, if you take my meaning.

After this is Soto vs. Diaz and then Gomez vs. Castillo, then the main event.

 

Round 3

Both men land very heavily in sequence during the first minute. Neither was hurt, but sweat flew off the heads of both. Medina is actually a bit overcautious now, getting countered when he tentatively jabs his way in. They begin to infight and touches under Duddy's elbow go unanswered. Lampley says that Medina's body punches are "arm shots". Somebody please give Jim Lampley a short punch in the side at close range.
