The excuse thread when Ward beats Kovalev.

    Little g fans were claiming that Ward would never fight Kovalev :lol:. They thought that because their hero has only fought c level opposition, and refused to dare to be great that Ward wouldn't fight Kovalev.

    So once Ward beats Kovalev what are the excuses going to be? Kovalev is suddenly going to become a bum, some will bring up how Kovalev was knocked down by GGG in sparring :lol:. Others will make up some injury excuses, or call a robbery. The sad thing is a lot of these so called "kovalev fans", dont even care about kovalev. They're going to throw him under the bus for little g.

    I didn't think Ward would ever fight Kovalev. But what does that have to do with excuses? I think the fights a 55/45 in Kovalevs favor. That means Ward could very well come out with a win and I wouldn't even be disappointed.

    It's like saying because I don't think Wilder/Povektin will happen that I'll make excuses for when Wilder beats povektin. Why would I do that when I already think Wilder TKO's Povektin if it does happen.

    :patsch look this thread obviously does not apply to all little g fans. But the point of this thread is for me to bump this up once Ward beats Kovalev, and all the excuses from the little g fans come out. About how Kovalev was nothing special, or how Kovalev was robbed, injured, or how he got "knocked down by GGG in sparring :lol:". Don't be surprised if they start calling him GGG's sparring partner, even though anyone that actually knows boxing knows Kovalev at 175 is a far harder test than GGG at 168.

    As a fan of both fighters this should be as epic as Mayweather vs Pacquiao but in favor of negative bias and lacking a bad guy in this fight, the casuals may not get into it.

    There should be no excuse for either man it is 50/50.
    As much as I may troll this is a great fight and people doing the old "pick a side" **** should really just enjoy a great fight between 2 great fighters.

    I know people will do it anyway but I'm outta this one. I have no dog in this fight. They are both bad mofo's.

    I made the same thread before Pac/Floyd fought. I just love saying "I told you so". I'm bumping this thread when all the little g fans who were saying Ward would never fight Kovalev, and that Ward should move up and stop picking on Golovkin, turn on kovalev, or start the excuses.

    I am just happy this fight got made, major respect for Ward moving up and taking on such a solid lhw in Kov :good

    I think Ward beats Kovalev and I'm kind of racist. Ward has better balance and core strength. He likely beats Kovalev and GGG, but I think GGG is the tougher fight for Ward.

    I'm a GGG fan and I wouldn't make excuses. I think it's a 50-50 fight and if Ward wins he should be ranked #1 p4p in the world

    I'm picking Kovalev to win. But we all know no-matter the result fanboys will rush to make excuses for the losing fighter.

    Well said Willie, no side should be obnoxiously boastful, even though I have a lot of faith in Kovalev to pull it off, and by KO, I'm trying to keep my powder dry and not rub it under anyone's nose, the same should apply for Ward fans, neither side should be too sure of themselves. And on a sidenote, people shouldn't get it twisted, this isn't going to play out like Mayweather-Pacquiao, both Ward and Kovalev have far more wrinkles in their game than those two.

    Those that didn't think Ward would keep is word and fight Kovalev have no credibility. All that means is that they have PTSD from May/Pac negotiations and need to fix their mental illness.
