FOLLOWING one of the best performances of his already great career 46 year old Bernard Hopkins (now 52(32)-5-2) not only became the oldest fighter to win a world title by way of a clear decision over Canadian Jean Pascal but vowed to continue his time at the top until he reaches 50. The new WBC light heavyweight champion managed to beat his 28 year old opponent in the former champion’s back yard six months on from their draw in December of last year and in his post fight interview he made an exciting statement of intent: “I would love to beat Bute after Chad Dawson then I’ll go onto something bigger and better.” Given the ageless qualities which “B-Hop” has displayed over recent years, it would seem that there is almost nothing beyond him. And the champion has promised fight fans that an announcement will be made on this Friday’s latest instalment of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights. Given Hopkins’ history, such a statement could be anything from a named date for a clash with Dawson to shock retirement call. decent fight dont agree with the main page article that he should figh bute next - dawson would be fine - id pick hopkins to win as well

Dawson doesn't fight at a high enough pace, isn't a scary puncher, and Hop does well against southpaws. I see B-Hop figuring him out and taking his heart, Dawson, mentally, doesn't seem very strong IMO.
He would love to get Joe out of retirement. It would be a cheek to say no considering the age difference too.
Who here thinks Hopkins would stand a chance up at Heavyweight? He did say he wanted to fight David Haye in the past
