I agree. Those wins alone would have been impressive. The losses to Ray and Marvin really hurt him. They are the fights most people remember. Too bad.

You call me a nut after an over emotional response like this. Not anti-Duran bile. I simply stated he was overrated and I have read other poster say the same. I said he was top 25 ATG but not top 10.
I don't follow trends, I have my own opinions about Duran and Hearns. Hearns was underrated because people judge his fights with Leonard and Hagler and not his wins over Cueves and Benitez and Duran and Virgil Hill. 3 of those in winning titles ,and one in what should have been a unification. He beat 3 HOF fighteres for his 147, 154 and 175 pound championship. Yes I think Tommy Hearns is underrated if you look at his wins and I think Duran is overrated. Just an opinion. Don't let it upset you, that is why we post on these boards. Not everyone is going to think and believe the same thing.
My dad did like Duran but I was more into boxing than he was. Duran still never knocked out an ATG.

    #1.- Leonard was the best
#2.- Hearns had the best wins against top guys in his career but lost his two biggest fights which is bad for his legacy.Even had Hearns beaten Tyson no one would have forgotten him losing to Ray and Marvin.
#3.- Hagler was the most consistent in title wins but fought greats moving up in weight. That is an asterik.
#4.- Duran had the best ferocious image yet did not beat the competition to be the best. Leonard creamed him the 2 fights after the first loss.
My list is Leonard,Hearns,Hagler and Duran.. Duran and Hagler had the same kind of career-dominance in divisions, yet Hagler did fight two ATG fighters Duran and Hearns and Duran lacks the wins against top guys.
