I think Bivol beats Berbieityieivifiev over 12 rounds

Skills pay the bills. I don't care if he hits hard as Doentay Wilder on steriods with a cactus up his butt.

Álvarez has better defense, period. High guard is fine (and Canelo has employed it where he's felt it necessary), but this vague proposition that it's all the defense one requires (as put forth in one of your recent threads) is highly questionable.

Optimal defense is high guard with head movement and footwork, but the most fundamental boxing defense is guard up and chin tucked. Proper boxing fundamentals calls for defensive responsibility and then go and whoop ass. People make it more complicated than it has to be. Alexis Arguello showed us what proper boxing is. Guard up, chin tucked and then kick ass.

This is silly. Possessing a broad palette of defensive technique doesn't make your defense more complicated than it needs to be. It makes you a better defender.

Bivol will tag Beterbiev plenty. Beterbiev's defense won't be the reason he succeeds where Canelo came up short. Natural differentials in size, strength and punching power will.

You also said that Beterbiev is more defensively responsible, which sort of implies defensively better. Not relying solely on high guard isn't automatically tantamount to defensive irresponsibility. Not at this level, anyway. It's not as if Canelo relies on Roy-like reflex. He's developed excellent reading comprehension and sense of anticipation.

I like Bivol by UD against Beterbiev. Maybe even late TKO.

Beterbiev is also just a flat out better fighter than Canelo is. I believe both Bivol and Beterbiev are total badass fighters and very top level boxers. These are two magnificent fighters.

You're entitled to your opinion. I think Canelo has been somewhat overrated (and I've said this a good while, while still acknowledging his quality), but it's highly likely he'll be sat above Beterbiev in the historical picture when both careers are through. The Chechen is overrated, too, in some quarters (in which you apparently reside).

Actually Beterbiev is underrated. No mainstream publication has him sniffing the top 10 p4p list.

Maybe not everybody is as blown away by a win over Gvozdyk as some on this forum.

The only reason you boost Gvozdyk as an A level fighter (while shitting on Loma, who is much more proven) is that you love Beterbiev and that's his best scalp.

Loma is a normal man. He is not genetically gifted. He has a short reach and is average in strength and physical prowess. Plenty of guys here think they can shadow box in the mirror and learn to technically box and then step into the ring and school world class fighters. That sounds good in theory and then you step into the ring and find not a man standing in front of you, but rather a piece of iron. Beterbiev is a genetic freak and Loma is not.

Now, consider their personalities. I like Beterbiev. He is a family man. An unpretentious gentleman in and outside of the ring. A true warrior and a great guy. Loma is a conceited jackass who suffers from pathological narcissism and has an inflated sense of self worth and of his own historical standing as a boxer. I do not like Lomachenko.
