I've never been much into symbols myself. No burning bushes or crosses in the sky. But I have to say that the failure of the Super Six is impossible to miss. Just about every criticism and complaint that boxing fans have issued over the past decade have reared their ugly little heads in this tournaments. I can't help but feel that this failure pretty much closes the book on boxing as a mainstream sport. Not that it was a mainstream sport before, but it had potential.

What does it say when the most ambitious and exciting thing to happen to the sport decades fails for all the same obvious, predictable reasons?

It's definitely dead now that the Super 6 has failed. It's a ****ing **** sport anyway, for pussies who can't play football (soccer).

    soccer is a sport?

i called the super 6 disaster when it started because i knew there was too much time between fights and a cut, injury or whatever on 1 person would be bad.... if you have 5 months between a fight and something happens...it turns into 7 months....maybe 8......tourneys are supposed to be someone quick...not take 2 1/2 years or whatever it was gonna end up taking.....it was a novel idea....it sucks its not full proof.

I've been getting flamed for months for telling people that the Super 6 was an utter failure. Most people lacked the foresight to see that the idea was stupid and doomed from the beginning.

History has shown that any new idea takes time to perfect, the super 6 is no different. Showtime will evaluate and learn from this, it's still a good thing for boxing and boxings future unless you're short sighted.

Nobody is going to beat Andre Ward at 168lbs for a long time so get over it, oh and welcome to 8 years ago :rofl

Yes, please cancel the rest of the year. Especially those meaningless, non competitive matchups like Lopez-Marquez, Williams-Martinez, and JMM-Katsidis.

Let's be honest, at the rate this year is going, there's no guarantee with any fight right taking place right now.
