The failure to make which fights in histry equals the Pac-Floyd dissappointment?

    Are there any/many that are comparable? We had two ATG's ready to go, a lovley clash of styles, both with huge support, the winner ready to take his spot amongst the very greatest fighters in history. With the fight looking less and less likely (Pac now looks to be lining up Clottey), I was wondering, which fights that were never made but were nearly made equal this one in terms of overall dissappointment?

    Of these three, I guess you could argue that Burley-Robinson is the closest to qualifiying. Dempsey-Wills and Lewis-Bowe were both absolutley massive fights that didn't happen, of course, but would either one have crowned the p4p #1 and defined the best fighter of an era? I don't think so. Nor would the winner have clambered into the highest echelons of boxing's pound for pound greats based upon this win alone.

    Whilst Burley-Robinson comes close to qualifying on these scores, Burley was not a popular fighter...both Mayweather and Pacquiao command the adoration of millions of fans...so maybe even Burley-Robinson doens't quite make it.

    Does anyone think Ryan-Walcott qualifies across the board?

    The failure to make Pac-Mayweather is a huge kick in the arse to boxings credibilty,especially in todays market place (MMA,UFC etc) and I honestly don't think there has been as big a disappointment.

    But another couple of big fights that could've happened but didn't would be Duran-Arguello or Jones Jnr-Benn.

    Hmmm, you're not far from having the two greatest P4P fighters in the world here. It's going to be hard to match. We are also pretty devoid of superfights nowadays too, where thru my era they were comparatively common. I'm sure struggling to think any from my time.
