i think floyd is the best and deserves all the praise he's receiving, but i think to totally cement his legacy he needs to beat a natural and prime welerweight or two.obviously cotto for starters and williams.a fight with cotto simply makes your mouth water.

Look where FLoyd started though. Cotto has been there longer, and certainly in my opinion too, has the better resume against the bigger guys, plus he fought some tough younger guys on his way up. Cotto will give Mayweather his toughest fight.
All these guys start out somewhat successful against FLoyd, and then fade down the stretch. Cotto gets stronger as the fight progresses.

Yup. Baldomir, Judah, Oscar, and Hatton...he picked all of them against Floyd. He made a cute post though. :good

I don't get the Floyd hate from this guy.

Which tougher guys on the way up? The guys Mayweather beat first? Sorry...Chavez, Castillo, Hernadez (Genaro and Carlos) in their primes are tough competition to have fought before Cotto ever got a world title fight.

I'm a Cotto fan, no doubt, but this thread starter is the PacDbest version of a Cotto fan...the kind of fan that ruins it for the rest of the Cotto fans.

last thing...Hatton was a top-10 P4P fighter when the fight happened. 36 year old SMM was not. If you can't give credit for that you're nothin but an ignorant hater. I've had my issues with Floyd, but i'm proud of him for his victory.

What top-10 P4P fighter has Cotto faced? Paulie Malignaggi? Quintana? Judah (after Mayweather beat him?), Sosa (after Mayweather beat him?)

whose? Not by the Ring...not by ESPN...not by Boxingtalk...not by Maxboxing...Not by Kevin Iola...Not by Bert Sugar...whose? Cotto was 10th, Hatton was 8th or 9th...Calzaghe, Pacman, JM Marquez, Vasquez, occupied other spots.

I'm serious, who had Mosely in the top-10?? Nobody. I'm not being a dick, i'm being honest. Collazo and Vargas victories after two losses? He wasn't on anyones list.

All you guys are missing the point of the thread....PBF claims that Cotto doesn;t have the resume to fight him, and I differe from that opinion because once you start looking at PBF since 140 on and you nosing but fighters past their prime and blown up opponents... Cotto has fought as many good fighters as PBF, and I am tired of some of the PBF fan claiming otherwise...

I will say this, if PBF offers a rematch to Ricky before fighting Cotto, IMO the writting is on the wall the PBF is ducking Cotto ....

    I did ann aslo pick:

Baldomir, Judah and Ricky..and that proves nothing that I will not favor PBF on a fight on basic principles...

Well he didn;t fought any of them at 140....and BTW, I love Chico but I know and everyone knew that he had guts and heart but an elite fighter he was not...nor Hernandez...

The questions is why PBF didn;t fought Casamayor before moving up in weightclass...that would ahve been a defining fight for PBF at time on his career...
