Of all the guys that PBF can fight NOW..there are really only two elites..Cotto and Mosley( a little past it). There aint many out there even 7 years ago so his smart managing can fly under radar.

Now had he been there in the early 80's and mid 90's then hed have a problem doing what hes doing

I will say this it would take an elite fighter to beat PBF and as you mentioned Cotto and SSM is it on the division...but back in the 80's when we had 5 elite fighters at their prime..which made each other gret and it was easy to asses their greatness for that particular reason...again key issue here was-they all fought each other-....if the elite and ATG is to given to either Cotto or PBF it is imperative they fight each other

Casa was all wrong for PBF...shifty, southpaw and can hit...plus slippery and with ring savy....that would have define PBF as the guy that TCB as he move up instead ...we always will wonder what if...

are you comparing their complete resume or certain weights because a complete resume Floyd laps his resume several times!

exactly...in order for pbf to improve his legacy he will need to fight other GREAT fighters...only one problem there isnt any..he beat dlh..the only other GREAT is mosley..cotto isnt great but is very good..so IMO he doesnt need to fight anybody else but those 2

I cant blame PBF for this as we know even the Cottto train just started gathering steam the last couple of years. Look, Floyds skills is undeniable..He is king of the moment no doubt about it

What bothers me though is (Im not a hater) the free pass were giving Floyd to All time greatness status surpassing the very fighters who have been in the trenches with other greats.

You say who and Ill throw a few out there.. Pea, JCC, Ray, Benitez..now even Duran and Hearns..

When you think about it..Its a shame that hes surpassed Tommy who would beat him h2h, had a stellar resume and frreakish skills

Who vouches for Tommy? ..he is PBFs rearview mirror and I feel thats wrong

Zab Judah? Cotto has win over Judah. - Ex Lineal Champ

Sharmba shot? I dont think so. It was a warm up fight at 147 nothing more. And Sharmba was not shot.

Carlos Baldomir the Lineal Champ. Who you picked to TKO Floyd

Ricky Hatton - You picked to TKO Floyd as well. And He weighed 154 on fight night. He was not blown up. He weighs 152-154 on fight night as a Jr Welterweight. + He was the 140lb champion.

DLH - Becomes old overnight to everyone after he fights Floyd.

    Cotto has wins at 147.

Carlos Quitana. A young up and comer nothing more. This victory does not surpass anything Floyd has done at 147.

Oktay Urkal - An older fight. A warm up fight to the Judah fight for Cotto. This victory is possibly on par with Sharmba fight for Floyd.

Zab Judah - Judah was coming off 2 losses and a NC. Not a good win for Cotto. Got hurt a lot and low blowed to not get KOed.

Shane Mosley - a 36 year old Shane Mosley Hurt Cotto and outboxed him. Cotto squeeked by and a lot feel he lost.

So Far at 147 Floyd has done way more and beat better comp overall. BTW Your so ******ed for two reasons. You try to use 140-147, who gives a **** what happened at 140. They are at 147 simply put, but even then. Floyd tried to fight the best, turned down by COTTO and Hatton.

And if you use 140 you want to use there whole career not just at 140-147.

AND the Oscar fight was at 154. Dumbass.

i agree but you cant hold it against fighters from this era...lets face it we will probably never get a era like the 80's again...so the fighters from today only can beat the GREAT FIGHTERS from today even though they dont compare to the fighters in the 80's...people will ask for pw next but that does nothing for his legacy unless pw goes on to be great same for cotto...so the only established greats left are dlh and mosley...like they say you only can beat the best of your era even though the BEST in that era might not be great
