The only other option the ref had was to either ignore Khan's fouls or DQ Kahn for repeated fouling, so I think the second point deduction was fine.

Rather than whinge about the ref, khan should learn how to fight on the inside and/or clinch.

Technically your right, but that doesn't mean it should happen, although it did on Sunday................. I believe there shld be some discretion on behalf of a ref when two guys are giving us a great fight for 12rds.

Before giving that second point he shouldve stop the fighters, turned to Khan and said, mate this is it, your last chance, i'm about to take a point off again.......... he didn't do that.

It's just like sending someone off in the SOO in the 1st minute of the game................ ruins the game.

If he doesn't give the second point deduction in the 12th it would've been a majority draw, which i think was a fair result given how close the fight was, Khan didn't deserve to lose 2 belts on a refs call like that......... Imagine if that was an Aussie fighter like Geale, you guys wld be up in arms and probably me too :yep

the ref is not the guys coach ffs.

like when the ref tells a league player he is offside. that's stupid imo. if u just start blowing a penalty, the players will soon adapt and be more cautious.

its not like the refs call in the fight ended the fight. it was a point loss, its not the refs job to figure out if the lost point will change whether a fighter will win or lose the title.

What if Khan had managed to land a knockout punch on Peterson after one of those occasions that he pushed him away? He was pushing Peterson away for 2 reasons - because he was uncomfortable with the pressure and because he wanted to put Peterson at the limit of his range so he could throw hooks.

Would the ref have stopped Khan, warned him and threatened to take a point away the next time, and given Peterson enough time to regain consciousness and continue the fight?

His job is not to continue warning a fighter after he's already docked him a point for the same offence.

His choice would be to DQ or dock him a further point.

Jim you are correct.:good It's similar at how people cry that Richard Steele stopped Meldrick Taylor with 2 seconds left against Chavez. The time of the fight doesn't matter, if a fighter is done the fight should be stopped and if a point deduction is warranted after constant warnings then a point should be penalised.

    Man that was bad.

Ok maybe a few times but 50 plus is no good. Just hands up tight D, drive the uppercuts with good/snappy leg drive, and push your weight into them.

I know easy to say. But that pushing was stuff novice does.
