This is mainly for Americans... While we hare read and heard thousands of articles why Boxing, notably Hw boxing is decline becaue boxing isnt main stream sport anymore and young athletes are in different sports where they make more money with less.

Bottom line is I agree with that.
That is big reason why there arent a single good american hw fighter at the top of the sport at the moment.

But have you guys not ever wonder, where comes all of the sudden this flood of these European, specifically these Eastern European Heavy weights?

-Why they didnt were there before? where did they come from and why?

Have yiu guys ever heard of the Fall of the Iron Curtain? When Soviet Union and its sosialistic countries were exist and did well they did NOT allow their atheleted to turn out Professional boxers. It was BANNED.
These Eastern Block countries has always had Great success at combat Sports, but just NOT at Pro level.

After Iron Curtain Fall, it becase little by little possible forthese eastern block athletes to move from amateur level sport to pro sport(Boxing).

If you really Deny these Talents and potential of these Eastern Block guys you are sadly closing your eyes from reality.

They would have done very well at every ERA at boxing...

Dont act they have no talent and skills

Eastern European heavyweights are taking over because:

    A. American athletes that size play football or basketball
    B. The amatuer system in that part of world was and still is far superior.

It is just small part of their Athletes whose come to World of Boxing just like only small part of USA athletes comes to boxing instead of choosing NFL or NBA.

    But I agree.

    C. European athletes play football as well. Would the WW division be stronger if they were boxers instead? Of course. Would Pacquaio and Mayweather be the best fighters in that hypothetical WW division?

    D. What if 160 million Nigerians were boxing fanatics? Would the 4 million Puerto Rico have so many world champions?

    etc.

Don't even feel the need to reply to him.
    That line is BS.
Like pro basketball and football weren't around in the 60s,70s,80s & 90s.

You have 2 brothers that are the top of the division. Both just happen to be from eastern europe.

The rest of the heavyweights, American and European are basically on the same level. Its not eastern europeans dominating, its the klitsckos.

Well that is actualyl nice post from you Danny...:good

But to be honest Easter block guys are dominating now and they got the best prospect coming up.. really man. But you Americans got some promising guys too they are just in beginning of their careers. One to keep eye on is Deontay Wilder, he's physical talented, big guy he just need some years to learn with his limited amateur experience.

For those laughing at the "NFL and NBA" excuse, let me ask you:

Are the current crop of US heavyweights as good as past generations?

Just look at how well fighters from Eastern Europe and Cuba have done and still do in the Olympics and Amatuer world championships. The results speak for themselves.

If that was true, then why isnt it translating at the lower weight classes?

At least you're admitting that it's an excuse.

How would you gage that question?
Just remember, everything people are saying now, during the Klitschkos' reign, was said during Lennox Lewis's reign and during Tyson's reign and during Larry Holmes' reign.

    This isn't new at all.
There's just an internet now in which more people can start to stir the pot.
