Yeah, I definitely feel the same way. That sort of thing is pretty dumb imo. Obviously when I was 19 I felt differently about that. All well.

Why can't you appreciate that everyone has different circumstances?

Andre deserves a huge amount of credit for taking on Kovalev. I'm glad he's fighting him for 2 reasons:

    1. It's truly great for boxing.

    2. It's shut down his haters, some of who have given him dogs abuse over the past few years.

Although it's great that he's moving up, you've got to realise that if there'd have been great fights for him at SMW and he'd have been comfortable at the weight, he'd have remained there.

It's totally unfair to question why GG hasn't moved up like Andre has, when his circumstances are completely different. There's good fights for him at MW, he's got goals that he wants to achieve, (just like every other fighter) and there's nothing there for him yet at SMW.

    Andre needed to move up.

    GG doesn't.

    That's how simple it is.

There's no need for all of this criticism and hate.

Criticising him for taking step aside money is just ridiculous. You know why he did that.

How is he pricing himself out of a Canelo fight? Stop talking nonsense.

It seems there's only a minority on here that like both GG and Andre. Ha!

You've made some excellent points regarding GG, but you've been very harsh on Andre.

He desperately needed those tune ups due to inactivity. Personally, as much as I'm looking forward to the fight, I'd liked to have seen him have another one before fighting Kovalev next year.

You have to respect him for fighting Kovalev. You simply have to. He didn't need to sign for that fight. He isn't his mandatory etc. You have to give credit where it's due.

It's really unfair to compare the resumes of Andre and GG for obvious reasons.

GG has always wanted to unify at MW, but before he beat Lemieux he was open to a big one off fight against the likes of Chavez Jnr. But as soon as he was in line to fight Lemieux and the winner of Cotto-Canelo afterwards, he cooled off from thinking about moving up. And anyone would have done the same in his position. People's circumstances are always changing.

It seems I'm in a minority of objective people on here.

There's not good fights for him to take at MW. Who? Jacobs? Saunders? CEJ? Those guys aren't even worth talking about. DeGale at 168 is better than all three combined for instance. Yeah he's pricing himself out of the fight with Canelo the guy's previous career high payday was 5 million he wants more than double that for Canelo that's crazy when you haven't proven to be a PPV draw that Canelo is or even close. This isn't Cotto-Canelo where both guys were proven PPV draws and even still Canelo took less to get Cotto in the ring. GGG is a diva and had he agreed to fight Canelo at a catchweight earlier this year the fight would have already been made.

Back to Ward. Andre fought in a deep division beating all the other elite fighters he really had nothing left at 168 was inactive couldn't get GGG in the ring so so he moved up. GGG who fights at 160 when compared to the 168 pound division Ward fought in is a cruel joke. There's no real elite talent at 160 like there was at 168 when Ward dominated it with guys like Froch, Kessler and Abraham. So based on that, GGG should have moved up to bigger and better things because he had no intention of fighting Canelo at a catchweight and unifying a **** division with the likes of Saunders and Jacobs which does nothing for his legacy. GGG moving up and fighting and beating DeGale would do much much more for his legacy.

For the racists on this forum, it depends on how you see Ward. He's half-white or he's half-black, he's never both to them.

I respect your opinion, but I really can't envisage GG taking out Andre.

We haven't even seen him at SMW yet.

    Pimp C,

    Stop being biased.

What do you mean BJS, Jacobs and CEJ aren't worth talking about?

They would all be good fights for him bringing a variety of different styles to the table.

James DeGale is tied up until next year.

Zurdo Ramirez is also tied up until next year.

Again, he is not pricing himself out of a Canelo fight.

The only thing that's happened, is that K2 have said they want to negotiate a percentage rather than accept a flat fee.

Negotiations will be ongoing, and the first meeting is scheduled for early next month.

If you really think that the fight would have been made had GG accepted the CW then you need to sort yourself out.

    You're living in a fantasy.

    The CW was irrelevant.

Oscar simply doesn't want the fight yet at any weight. Open your eyes.

    Once again:

    Everyone's circumstances are different.

A DeGale fight could happen in the future. I think there's a strong possibility that can be made.

GG has every right to try and accomplish his goals at MW, which are no different than what DeGale is doing himself at SMW.

    You have to be objective.

Why aren't you saying things such as:

"Why is DeGale bothering to unify a weak division with Jack, when he could be in the LHW mix with Andre, Kovalev and Stevenson etc?

Just leave them be and see what unfolds.

Again, there is nothing wrong with GG trying to become the undisputed MW champ, especially when the SMW's are tied up.

We could end up with two undisputed champs going at it. How often has that happened in recent years?

    Yeah, it would be great.

It's such hard work on here.

Most people have an agenda and debate on emotion.

Yep. The inconsistency of some people would be funny if it weren't so tragic.
