    Not really:good

His skin betrayed him after getting punched in the face repeatedly, its part of boxing which means you cant really say Vitali should have won.:good

Punching the opponent in the face and cutting them has nothing to do with luck and of course the win isnt meaningless, thats being a little silly.:good

The fight was stopped because of the damage Lewis had inflicted on Vitali, it was a tremendous fight in which both guys laid everything on the line. Lewis prevailed and won by TKO6, im sick of this subject.:good

Lewis didn't need more rounds to stop Vitali, he got the job done in 6.

Great post. Actually the best post in this thread. Something happened to LL for the first time in his life in this fight. He was OUTBOXED. That is why he REFUSED a rematch, huge payday, and RETIRED.

Ah, the old 'Vitali would have won if he hadn't lost' argument.

One of my personal favourites of all ESB memes.

Not really, in terms of technical boxing ability Ray Mercer, Frank Bruno and Evander Holyfield all presented Lewis with far more problems than Vitali did for those six rounds.

Holyfield????? Don't make me laugh. Holy threw about 10 punches per round in those fights.

Lewis tore Vitali's face apart with his fists and battered him into submission by targeting the subsequent cut and got the victory.:good

Really can't deny that, but VK had his number, IMO, just as Maskaev had Rahman's.

if you don't agree, provide a counter argument... otherwise, there is no need to reply to the quote!

Not KO but the cut would be the deciding factor, sure the ref could have let the fight on but he would have to stop it in the next round or the one after that, no way Vitali would last 12 with that cut.

Literally the first time this fight has been considered in such a way.

Vitali could only see out of 1 eye, he had no sense of perception, he was not gonna KO lewis fighting like that, but he was gonna eat enough right hands and lose so much face that he would have been the one retired!

It was Lewis's final swansong, he put his all into winning 1 last fight. He was 38 and still pulled out the win Tyson was losing to Williams at that age Ali was losing to Holmes, Riddick Bowe was sticking a fork into his wife..
No doubt Vitali would have a won rematch against a 39 year old Lewis, Lewis was finished - but even a shot Lewis showed he had enough heart to beat Vitali Klitschko.
