By the way, I think that Barnett's submission tonight ranks as amongst the most gift wrapped in MMA history.

It's right up there with Jennum/Bowen and Aoki/Gardner.

Same old story with Josh...still top 5 though...Im sure you'll come up with a better match but him and Mir would be a great co-main...

Barnett/Mir is a match I have wanted to see for a while.

Catch v Jits is always exciting. Was Renzo v frank the last example of that?

Maybe. But if Barnett gets his ticket to the UFC - I wouldn't be surprised to see him get matched against the jiujitsu guys like Werdum, Mir or Nogueira right away.

I'm racking my brain for recent examples.

    Aoki vs. Kitaoka?

Catch is a dying art, the only recent example is Daniel Bryan in WWE...

Yeah you crazy alright. No chance. Cormier will take Overeem to the ground with ease. Soon as Overeem gets punched in the grill repeatedly he'll wilt. Overeem is great on his feet when he's dictating the pace. But much like what Cain did with JDS he struggles badly when he can't control the fight. Dan won't give him any chance to do that.

Barnett's crazy psycho killer act is really ****ing pathetic, who is he trying to kid?

Cormier looked pretty average against a weak opponent.

What kind of dumbarse is Nate Marquardt? Is his takedowns that terrible that he couldn't doing **** all here?

Marquardt made Saffy look a lot better than he is.

KJ Noons got ripped off, but with him being such a cocksucker, who really cares, but man, once again MMA judging is ridiculous.

Yep, could see that happening. :good

If Overeem lands big early on though, great as Cormier is at wrestling he is very small compared to Overeem. And he doesn't have lots of experience with competing against Overeem's style of attack. :yep

    :hat

Abused is an understatement. Saff turned it into a side of raw beef. Why on Earth didn't Nate switch stance to protect his lead leg? Thats a really low fighting IQ right there. First defense and lost his title. Saff Woodley 2 anyone...

I had to think about it overnight but perhaps it was poetic that Saffedine beat Marquardt for the final Strikeforce title fight. Saffedine was a fighter who came up through the Strikeforce Challenger ranks while Marquardt was always a guy that just came over because he got booted out of the UFC. So in the final symbolic battle of UFC vs Strikeforce - Strikeforce wins inside the cage.
