Most people spank one out to hot babes. A few are more concentrated and do it to things like women's feet.

But some weirdos out there do it to chins. Of men.

Also I'd like to rufute your stunningly stupid post about Lucian Bute having a glass jaw. The Andrade fight is the only moment you referenced him being exposed for his glass jaw. Now while I don't think Andrade is anything better than a C+ or B- fighter if he does one thing well, it's punch, stopping 22 of 29 opponents. The rest of your arguement only sites Butes padded record and lack of oppostition. How do the two apply? And don't say he's being protected, beacuse when Bute was really starting to gain recognition, the Super Six was being formed so most of the viable options for Bute were unavaiable becauase at the time Bute was in a contract with HBO. All he's really been left to do since the tourney started was stay busy fights, which any pro should do to keep away ring rust. I'm not defending Bute by any means, and yes he did get a long count and it should have been a loss, but it wouldve been to a guy with a 70% KO rating. Now that he's with Showtime when the SS is over we can find out alot more about him once he faces the top opposition, but until then the jury is still out. Think before you type.

I will reinforce that by agreeing it's not that most boxing fans deny the existence of fighters with bad chins, it's the arguement that once a fighter gets stopped or KO'd he almost instantly gets lumped into the catagory of "glass jaw" and written off. While you and your 5 friends find you videos amazing, realize that anyone, and I mean ANYONE with the ability to edit a video can put together clips of guys getting KO'd, add some sound effects and go "see here...all of these guys have glass jaws". It's mindless and humorous all at the same time.

 

You're right. It's got nothing to do with denying glass chins. Of course, some boxers have a weaker chin than others. Of course the earth rotates around the sun. No need to form a teenager goup.

it all comes down to expectations.

watching sbdy taking a brutal shot to the chin without being knocked down or appearing to be hurt plays to special parts of our brain that concentrate on reasoning and expectations.

we expect that sbdy to go down, to be hurt etc. if that doesn't happen, that surprises us and we try to find a logic reason behind it.

that is how magic-tricks work.

that reasoning-process, influenced by our spiritual affection for heroes with supernatural powers creates the fascination and mystique about "iron-chinned warriors".

we can't explain why they are able to do what others can't, so we attribute it to superhuman powers possessed by that person, satisfying our need for heroes and higher things to believe in that can't be explained.
