It's damning enough Arreola is the top heavyweight. If he loses, it doesn't get any worse for you, really. He's not world class regardless of the result of this fight.

The best American heavyweight is still USS.

Maybe...But not tonight. Arreola wins by KO.

And if he wins he will be in line for a title shot. I don't think you can write the guy off just because of his belt size. He is a good fighter and he'd have a very good shot against any heavyweight not named Klitschko. Yes, that includes David Haye.

    On his stomach, rather.

That bulging thing could hold both Klitschkos and the local taco bar, Arreola wouldn't have to walk anywhere! :happy

Agreed but Thompson i think looked way worse against Wlad than Arreola did against Vitali. With Chris we all know its about the weight. A friend of mine who just recently started watching some past Arreola fights and seems to have became a fan leading up to the Adamek fight was telling me the other day about reading Chris was going to come into this fight at 240 etc.. I had to just laugh b/c we hear this every fight. I am a big Chris Arreola fan b/c he wears his heart on his sleeve, i myself have battled weight issues for much of my life and have read interviews where it seems Chris has true eating issues, and he's just fun to watch. But I knew he wouldnt do it. 250.5. Im going off this by memory so please forgive (but feel free to correct) if im not 100% accurate. I believe though that is about 9lbs down from the Minto fight but basically the same weight Chris was for the Vitali fight and i cant remember his weights off hand previously but I know the Chaz fight is the last time Chris came in sub 240. If anything was going to wake Arreola up into training (if he truly wants to be a champion) it had to be the loss to Vitali. This is his 2nd fight since then and he's now weighed more or the same in both of those fights. Doesnt seem like he got the wake up call at alll.

    tony thompson and ray austin

that says it all if you are trying to be positive about u.s. heavyweights....
if wither of those get another shot, its a sad day....those guys would have been lunch meat for an Alex Stewart level fighter in the 90s

thompson looked like he was in slow motion on espn2 a few weeks ago, it was laughable

He's COMPLETELY unknown over here. Hardly anyone follows the pathetic bums called heavyweights in the US. And, I've been in Vegas for a decade now. Americans don't bother to watch "C" level athletes compete.

I added them to a list that incuded Chambers and Arreola who are both good fighters. Yes, the Thompson fight was pretty umimpressive. But what can you expect....the guy's 38 years old. If he'd started boxing in his teens rather than his late twenties, there's a good chance he'd be a force. He does or did have talent.

lets say you have battled weight issues you whole life as you said...i would bet you still work right and you arent in danger of being out of shape in terms of being fired....
Arreolas ONLY job is to fight and train, train and fight. he gets paid to be in shape. thats his job. thats why people frown at his weight. coming in high you know he didnt do much road work and he damn sure wasnt eating the right stuff. hes just a lazy dude

Obviously you're wrong. :-(He's been on HBO four times now for a reason...and it ain't because he has dirt on Larry Merchant or Jim Lampley. Somebody's watching. :patsch
