I agree. If you've ever trained as a boxer there are a lot of things you can do that don't require a lot of energy or burn very many calories. You can hit the bag at an even pace, hit the speed bag, do a little mitt work, light sparring. None of them burn calories. It's really the jump roping and road work at cut the pounds. And to my knowledge Chris does not do roadwork and I've never seen him with a jump rope in his hands.

having talent and and being the best in the world are 2 different things.
on one hand you say thompson will probaly get another shot one day and he is one of the best 3 heavies in the world from the u.s side. then you say he did look unimpressive because hes 38. he fought owen beck who just looked pathetic and as slow as he was, thompson didnt look any faster. fact remains he didnt didnt start boxing till when he did and he is only as good as he is. which is mediocre. ray austin i dont even know whos he ever beaten .
Arreolla is a fat ass with a great punch. eddie chambers is a cruiserweight that didnt win a round in his championship fight...i really cant find anything to get excited about...its al pretty pathetic...you must be new to boxing

good points. i am a runner. (per say) ive ran about 10 half marathons and 2 full ones (13.1 miles) (26.2 miles)
i used to treat a race even like a fight...i would need 8-12 weeks to prepare. in those weeks depending on which race you run, you will start off with 10-12 miles per week, each week progressing. with all that said, after 8 weeks the weight is falling off, because of the # of miles you are running. the last few weeks are 25-30 miles a week and 1 long run on sunday. the last thing you want to do is show up for a race (or a fight) and be out of gas on mile 18 or out of gas in round 8 (with someone punching you in the face) you cheat yourself and a guy like arreolla cheats himself and the fans and his family...

Did you forget that the Tiger is making a comeback? Go Tony Thompson.

Arreola won't beat Adamek, even if he does I don't expect him to go far in the division. Wladimir would do the same thing Vitali did to him if not worse. A fight with Haye is his only chance at a world title and I can't see him beating Adamek. I expect Adamek to stop him late or win a clear UD.

No, friend, I'm not new. I also didn't say that Thompson would get another shot. Read closely. I said that Austin will probably get another shot because he has an elimanator. To say Thompson is mediocre is just foolishness. Sorry, but you deserved it. He has beaten top ten fighters and he gave Klitschko the toughest test out of his 8 title defenses. He actually managed to win a few rounds, which is rare against Wlad. Sorry, but you seem to be the tyro here.

Austin? Well, he did have a draw with Iggy, who was a good fighter, and he KO'd the same old Golota that Adamek got too much credit for beating.

it just shows how much americans have declined in the heavyweight division. i'm looking at the amateur heavyweight ranks, and theres also no one there that's taking my liking that's american. it seems it's going to be a long time unless you get some prodigy come along real quick at a young age. it could happen even though it's very unlikely. my betting is it could be a decade or more.

I saw the fight. Yes, Golota did look injured. But that's boxing. I don't know what to tell you. He lost the fight by KO according to the official records.

Just make him champion emeritus or something in the hopes that he will retire for a few years and give us all a rest...:D

We're gonna have to make Haye an honorary American. That's the only chance we got.

Maybe we should start luring the old guys out of retirement.
