Chavez is a much greater LW than JLC in my opinion also.

Lew Tendler? I don't see him on the list.

It's certainly where he did the most damage!

Ike Williams. I've seen him destroy Jack, he looks exceptional.

Exceptional enough to make my top 15? Probably. That's a horrific oversight by me.

:goodCheers. I was just trying to gauge your opinion of him. Anytime anyone constructs an atg list, an oversight or 2 is bound to happen. Yours is a pretty damn good list:good

Burns is arguably better than anyone Mosley faced at lightweight, though. Gamboa would certainly have been the best feather in lightweight Mosley's cap. Same with Beltran.

Oh go away, I can't be bothered disagreeing with you more. Burns is average. Beltran is average.
Past prime Gamboa at lightweight is AVERAGE, especially against a stylistic threat who has a welterweight frame.
Crawford didn't even look impressive against these opponents, let alone the monster Mosley was at 135lbs.

No, not going away on this, Gan.

Mosley's competition at lightweight was also average. Past prime, smaller Molina and Leija were SSM's two best wins at the weight. And I think Gamboa is probably more talented than either of those guys.

Holiday...AVERAGE (see, I can write in caps, too). And Mosley didn't look much like a world beater in that fight.

Ceballos...average. Ruiz...average. Shotgun Gomez...limited. Morales...padded record. Brown and Johnson were serviceable guys, but not really any better or more proven than Beltran. Betcha TC monsters most of these, too.

I don't know if TC deserves a place in the top 50, but in terms of quality of opposition, it's at least as good as the crew upon which SSM built his reputation.

Yes; very little separates Crawford and Mosley.

Mosley has it over TC in terms of numbers, maybe. But he was never lineal. Kind of a wash.

Lightweight actually has a number of guys who just kind of stopped by before moving on to different things. DLH, Mayweather, JCC, JMM and TC all fit this description. Even Arguello does, to some extant.

    Floyd Mayweather, Tier VII?

Terrible. He's much better than that.
