The Fight Game is in TERRIBLE shape..

We will be alright its looking a little dim but with fighter's like Pac Marquez Cotto etc we will bounce back.

 

and IMO I think the TS is going a bit over board with the topic title

first with citing the Judah-Hatton + Malignaggi-Diaz bouts as "all we have to look forward for the summer"

for one thing, im not interested in either of the above as Judah should destroy M. Hatton and the Malig-Diaz bout is @ a catchweight (138.5) so that drastically reduces the interest level for me.

**funny how these 2 bouts are mentioned yet none from the TS about the Bradley-Campbell fight, which I did see, so lets not forget that the card

these fights might not have the most hoopla around em, but compared to Hatton/Judah and Malignaggi-Diaz, I think the August 1st card is much better, and something to look forward to.

again said this before, but traditionally the summer months are the weakest for boxing, and it should pick back up in the fall with the Cotto + Haye fights .. as well as the SMW Tourney .... just to name 3 things.

 

dont forget the return of kessler and he is fighting Gusmyl Perdomo instead of someone we give a **** about

Im not expecting the Nate Campbell fight to "rejuvenate" anything

I just like the fact that he was a solid competitor at 135, and is moving up in weight to face an Undefeated titlist in Tim Bradley

again I call it how I see it ... sport rejuvinator, probably not ... intriguing fight, I believe so

it might not be "good" but I think the fight could turn out to be good.

and for the record Nate Campbell isn't 10,000 years old .. he's 36 ... stop sounding foolish.

regarding the Junior Witter bout ... yes Witter himself is old, but I am more interested in the fight from the perspective of Devon Alexander, who's young talented and hungry.

as yes the Bradley/Witter fights are more for the hardcore fan, but compared to the Judah/Hatton and Malignaggi/Diaz bouts

im more intrigued with the Showtime card.

 

true, traditionally summer isn't great but this is awful. Mostly attributed to all the cancelled/postponed fights. I mean how many are we at now??

 

as far as canceled fights goes ... Haye backing out is the biggest big one that comes to mind. Floyd got injured and his fight got put back to September

outside of those 2 .. what were the other big summer fights that were supposed to happen?

and this just occurred to me .. maybe it's HBO that's been the problem

as looking at the dreadful schedule the Malignaggi/Diaz bout to name one, does nothing for me. throw in the other lack luster bouts HBO has televised this year (Dawson-Tarver 2 ... Winky/Williams ... Berto/Urango)

but going back to "summer boxing" I'll throw something new into the argument ... I read somewhere that PPV buys over the summer aren't the greatest, so that might explain why the big fights traditionally are not made during the summer months.
