The Thrilla was a fight between has-beens...FOTC was peak...not considering that is unfair to Frazier.

Certainly WAS a match :good Both men in different ways went way beyond the call of duty. Frazier proved that (for that fight) he was the best in the world, and Ali proved to all that he had as much balls as any fighter who ever lived.

    Thank you both,Muhammad and Joe.

The Fight, the boxer against the puncher, down to the closed-circuit broadcast, has the veneer of majesty.

As a boxing fan, I wish it could someday be shown on primetime TV. It is a showcase for the sport, with great fan-creating potential.

And it is so satisfying to me that my man Joe rightfully prevailed!

The defending champion, he surmounted a sizable hole his challenger and also undefeated champion placed him in early --coming through a firestorm of wicked punishment in the process-- dished out an even heavier dose of leather, capping it off with the kitchen sink in the 15th and final round, mesmerizing the glitziest players and celebrities of the day.

From a technical standpoint, Archie Moore, who knew a thing or two, praised Ali's skill and the two big boys' pace, equating it to that of Henry Armstrong. Amazing!

Thriller was scary. Both were physically spent and fighting almost purely on hate and pride. Sorry to say, its not an easy fight to watch.

Ali was still ring rusty at this point. He made up some lost ground, afterwards, and was at his 1970s best circa 1972-74. This is not,in the slightest, taking anything away from Smokin' Joe's performance. It was a magnificent victory for him.

yes i agree frazier fought an exceptional performance in FOTC but none of those 70s guys fought the very best ali - that was the 60s.
