IIRC there were plans for that fight after the Benn fight which Gman was heavily favoured to win.

As someone else already said he beat Roy as an amatuer. Would have been a good fight for the 1st few rounds then Roy would take over imo.

 

Jones/McClellen would've never happened. They were too close.

 

Benn is a ****ing warrior.

My favourite British fighter ever, bar none.

I'm still amazed to this how someone as savage as he was in the ring, is so softly spoken and laid back outside of the ring!

A real Jekyl & Hide character imo.

I watched that fight live as a kid and you even at a young age you just knew that you was watching something special.

 

I was 13. My friend in school kept saying how McClellan was a jnr Tyson and was going to KO Benn. I loved Nigel Benn and refused to believe that but after round 1 man I thought the fight was over. Couldnt believe it was allowed to continue and then the fight was just incredible.
