For me it was two: Pryor-Arguello I bit me, and then Gomez-Pintor cemented me as a boxing fan when I was 10. I was a big fan of Menudo the boy band, like all other ten year old girls in Puerto Rico, and of boxing..go figure..lol had my room filled with Menudo and boxing posters hahahaha

But I'd say Gomez-Pintor secured me as a lifetime boxing fan.

Which was your fight that did that for you?

Not one I've seen live, but classics that cemented my admiration for the sport, its history, and all those who helped write it:
    • Foreman-Norton
    • Saddler-Elorde II
    • Moore-Durelle I
    • Walcott-Charles III
    • Ellis-Patterson
    • Carnera-Uzcudun I and II ( the camera angle, its noise, and sheer size of Carnera ignites the imagination.)
    • Napoles-Cokes
    • Frazier-Ali I
And the one diamond without footage: Ezzard Charles-Archie Moore trilogy. In my mind it remains a pristine, larger than life, lost clash of virtuosos that may never be found.

Recent gems that thrilled me for the time being: Inoue-Donaire I and II, Inoue-Fulton, Usyk-Joshua I and II, Usyk-Dubois, Alvarez-Ryder, Ryder-Parker, Ioka v anybody really.

I wish I had a defining moment but I don't. I started watching the Thursday Night Fights from the Olympic Auditorium in 1965 and it was quite cool. My mom would take my siblings and go grocery shopping. My dad and 8 year old me would be by ourselves watching the fights. It was the only time as a kid I got to drink one of my dad's cans of soda. He would get one for both of us and we would watch the bouts from 8 to 10pm.

So I guess the answer would be the Thursday Night Fights.

    Hagler v Hearns!
The build up, reading about it in the Ring Magazine, their faces in those pictures together, all business, no messing around.
Then the actual fight. My god, that first round when both men just clashed together.
Not quite 3 rounds but enough for me to get bitten by the boxing bug.

Me too. It was Muhammad's second fight with Henry Cooper and the Brian London bout that turned me into the Ali fanatic that I have been ever since.

The first fight I remember seeing is Marvin Johnson against Saad Muhammad. I can't remember if it was fight one or two
    That got me into boxing

    Thank you, both! :beer-toast1:

I can't take all the credit, though. I have yq good memory so I kind of wing it unless I'm really unsure, but the lockdowns from COVID-19 really helped out. I worked like 6 hours 4 times a week cutting logs, but other than that, I could watch as many boxing matches as I wanted. I watched over a thousand in April of 2020

You watched more than 33 fights per day on average in 1 month?!?! Haha, that's insane. They majority obviously weren't 15 round distance fights, unless you don't sleep ;)

    Crikey!

Tbf, I spent dozens of hours each month of lockdown researching fighters careers for my top 20 rankings in the original 8 weight divisions, making copious notes on Excel and Word. I probably learnt as much about boxing history in 2020 as I had in the 37 preceding years I'd been alive.
