    Mike Tyson Frank Bruno 1996

I was 8 years old when this took place but my uncle who loved Iron Mike ordered the pay per view and had the whole extended family round.

They were all rooting for Bruno but i was fascinated by Mike and from then on in young as i was i watched as much boxing as i could...Prince Naseem was the nxt guy i truly followed as he was all over the British scene

However despite watching and learning as much as i could i can't say i was a proper boxing fan like i was say a football fan as i just didn't know enough to have any great knowledge of fighters outside of Lewis Tyson and Naz...and later on Hatton and Calzaghe...

This is where ESB came in...i found this surfing the net in 2003 looking for articles on Tyson and from then on in i had my boxing piece and with a proper undestanding of the fight game i became a fan on a whole new level getting footage of classic bouts featuring Monzon Hagler Sanchez and the like...

The Lewis-Klitschko fight and the debate that i watched on this forum sealed the deal for me. I became a full blown boxing fan and now i would say it is at the very least on a par with football(soccer to the yanks) as im getting more and more disillusioned with the club game.

So long story short 3 matches

    1. Tyson-Bruno 2: Made me interested in watching.
    2. Hagler-Hearns: Made me appreciate fighters out with the ones i grew up with.
    3. Lewis-Klitschko: Made me realise that even in the present, great fights could still happen between great fighters.(Lewis is an all time great, Klit very good)

I already watched boxing because of my father, but the one that cemented my own interest and made me follow the sport even more than my father afterwards was Merqui Sosa vs. "Prince" Charles Williams. "Prince" later became known as "King". These two had a war of a fight on Saturday afternoon card on network television. ABC if I remember correctly. It is still the most brutal war I have ever seen. The ref. or ringside physician (can't remember) stopped the fight and declared it a technical draw because BOTH fighters were unable to continue after the 7th round. It is the least talked about fight I know of that was this incredible.
