Reigning IBF champion King Kong Agbeko VS Silence Mabuza. These are two of the best fighters at 118 besides Hozumi Hasegawa. Who'd win in a battle of these two bad azz Africans?
If the same Mabuza that fought Rafael Marquez II shows up then I got Mabuza by wide UD. ALthough I havent heard much of him since that fight, if hes been inactive since then maybe Agbeko by close decision.
Agbeko put up a very entertaining fight on the Cunningham-Adamek undercard, but I haven't seen much of Mabuza to know whether he can exploit the openings in Agbeko's game while avoiding enough punishment himself. What's Silence's style like?
Silence Mabuza is a flashy boxer-puncher with respectable punching power and fast hands. He also has some fancy footwork but he never shys away from an exchange. A former IBF title holder. He fought Rafael marquez 2x and came up a little short but he still gave him a tough fight in both matches. Not too many people can take marquez' punching power especially at 118 so i don't blame the guy. He's the #2 guy at 118. I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Agbeko.. I think u can see his fight with marquez on youtube. I don't know if it's still there but.... Silence mabuza is underrated and he's a bad bad man.
Thanks, I'll have to check 'em out. :thumbsup Basing it on nothing more than that, it sounds like Mabuza should be the favorite if the two fought.
he was featured in a ring articel back in 2002 alnog with phillip Ndou. he is a lot bet then Ndou. has above average power and quick hands boxer puncher type. only has 2 losses to Marquez at 118. gave a good account for himself in both fights. i got mabuza by stoppage in 10
I would take Mabuza comfortably. I would be suprised if he failed to stop his fellow African. Agbeko is extremely extremely raw. Pretty slow, open, wild. He looks typical of a lot of African fighters I see, they don't seem to have any schooling but they are physical specimens. On the other hand Silence is very quick and reasonably skilled.
King Kong is a multi dimensional fighter bruh, he can do it all. The only knock on him is that he tends to get overconfident and fights down to the level of his opponents. He's no speed demon but he's far from slow. He appears slow sometimes cuz he loves to stay in the pocket and trade. but his boxing ability is world class and so is his power.
I'm afraid I'm not quite with you on that. He is slow compared to most bantamweights. He's probably the slowest champ of the lot. His punches are often round and lacking technique. I think he'd struggle against good outfighters to be honest. Him against Hasegawa would be a well matched fight.
Did u see his fight against perez bruh? Like i mentioned earlier, he's not super fast but he's not a total snail either like u make him out to be. Against Perez, he was catching him with counter right hands and left hooks consistantly. He might not be the fastest of the group but he has a very good sense of timing. Yup a fight with Hasegawa would be great! :thumbsup
