Naseem Hamed v Juan Manuel Marquez There was always a bit of talk about Naz ducking Marquez, or maybe circumstances worked against a possible showdown, but that is not really what I'm here to discuss. I want to know who you would think would have won the fight if the two had have met in the ring. At the time that Marquez was the mandatory Naz may well have been past his prime a tad, and Marquez may not have reached his prime, having peaked at a later age. So for convenience sake I will make this a prime-4-prime contest. I'm a bit torn on the matter of the outcome. The gift of hindsight tells me that, as the superior boxer, Marquez would have done a better job on Hamed than Barrera did; but of course that was not prime Hamed in there with Marco. I also have to think that Naz is a stronger and probably faster version of Pac, and that he would have KO'd Marquez at some point in the mid to late rounds. But then Naz probably doesn't have as great a chin as Pac does and the accumulation of pinpoint punches landed may give Marquez the edge. But then Naz wasn't really chinny; he just had severe balance issues. And of course Barrera probably has a better chin than Marquez. Help me out here guys:huh
in all honesty both chins whaen hit by power punches were shakey. prime for prime i picked DRAw but IMHO. i got NAz as he certaily would of connected and has the type of power to put JMM to sleep
On the other hand, Hamed was often sloppy and would have provided plenty of opportunities for an excellent counter-puncher like JMM. The funny thing is I would have easily picked JMM back when Hamed was still fighting but now that the question is brought up again I'm kinda stumped!

RD. 1 If JMM decides to box and pick Naz apart, JMM by WIDE UD I wish this fight would have taken place, aswell as a Erick Morales matchup for both fighter's mentioned.....danmm! what a great era that was. (It's too bad Naz didn't mix it up more with the other Mex legends) We will always have The Kevin Kelly @ MSG fight to remember you Naz. (Now that was a show!!!!!)
