I think the only one who can beat Kovalev is the other Russian monster, Beterbiev. He's not as good as Kovalev, but he seems to be physically stronger and may even punch harder.

 

And from here on all Kovalev will get credit for is beating an "Old man" Almost 50-year-old Hopkins deserves huge credit for going the distance with Kovalev which no other fighter has ever done!

Hopkins has a ATG chin, arguably the best in the history of boxing.

 

I wouldn't write Beterbiev off. He is on his way up and if he is able to stay within the LHW limit for long, the very interesting period is coming. Looks like he's on the WBC path, which means that Stevenson should be very worried.

Look out for A. Beterbiev, who is just started his Pro career not long ago. He'll be looking to crash the party and grab those belts at some point. He is no joke.

Until then, nobody's holding a candle to Sergey Kovalev. Kovalev vs Beterbiev will be one helluva battle someday. I hope to see Kovalev get Stevenson in the ring in the meantime.

Sergey Kovalev is going to rule LHW for a good while before the inevitable Beterbiev showdown on the far horizon. He's an exciting fighter and very fun to watch. HBO has a potential superstar in the making and boxing fans have a great champion.

Excellent strategy by Kov but he set the tone with the early KD, B-Hop was amazing at 50 smart and cagey, but could not get Kov to fall into the trap, Kov kept his range and worked. I still think B-Hop may have a few good wins in him and may have a shot vs Stevenson but always a danger fighting these young guys

 

Beterbiev, baby, Beterbiev is the real truth in the division.

Yeah, everyone should give Kovalev his credit. He carried out a gameplan and showcased his skill-set, focus, and determination tonight against a legitimate ATG who still beats most guys at that weight class. He'll be a great champion.

Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev shows his skills,patience,power,speed and big fight mentality. No one beats hopkins in such a wide manner, even roy jones couldnt do so or chad dawson, supposedly superior boxers than the KRUSHER.
