Both were were hurt by the shots.

Pac folded over a little. Wrights legs staggered some also from a shot landing between his gloves. I dont think either case was anything to serious though.

I'd say the Marquez vs Diaz fight. I believe it was the first or second round where Diaz was throwing non-stop and Marquez hit him with a right to the body and the punches in bunches stopped for the rest of the round. That was the beginning of the end for Diaz.

That punch against Pacquiao changed the pace of the fight completely, it was getting due time for Pac to slow down anyway though, that punch was just the signal. It remained fast paced with Pacquiao dominating, just not as insanely blazing as it was in the first half.

At 1:17, it looked like DLH was stunned by a Forbes left hook and he went into retreat and shell mode like he did late in his fight with Pac.

Can't find my Pac/Diaz notes, sorry. The PW/WW notes happen to be under the keyboard, though. With Williams/Wright in that exchange, I've got: "n/f clash P top W l eye; PW low l thigh; WW stand + dip = butt?; no answer PW flurry?; WW reset crowd ooh?" Some great shorthand technique I've got there, huh? :nut

So... with watching High Def and what caught my attention at the time:
I felt that Wright was getting more cautious in the 2nd half of the 2nd round. The right eye's looking about ready to puff up slightly from jabs and then the left has contact with the top of Williams' head. Then he's hit on the thigh and expects Williams to take a step back when the low blow was noted. Williams starts a flurry and Wright's defense goes wonky, guarding against a headbutt rather than a punch by standing tall then dipping to the other side of PWs head, expecting it to shoot straight up. That left hook barely registered for me; my impression was that when Winky was tagged with it, he started shifting the defense back to stopping punches and looked awkward enough while resetting that the crowd thought he was hurt.

I think the most telling thing is how the fighters react....

like if a guy lands a big punch and keeps following threw very agressively .... usually he thinks hes on to something

There's one punch that goes untalked about in Williams-Quintana, a big body shot that landed and made Carlos Quintana back up for a few seconds and grimace like a girl. I figured Paul would've noticed and gone in for the kill but he didn't. Carlos (surprisingly) persevered and made it through the round. The fight was won right there. God I wish I could remember which round it was. I wanna say 8.

I can't remember exactly the round or when it was, but I remember Hopkins talking about Trinidad hitting him with a body shot in their fight he said really hurt but he was able to brush it off and keep his poker face.

It was kind of noticed, but I'm shocked that nobody mentions how many times Winky Wright stunned Tito Trinidad in their fight. He noticeably wobbles him in the 7th and 8th, too.

Good stuff. This just gives me an excuse to go back with a fresh pair of eyes and watch fights again I've already seen 50 times. I'm just begging for a reason. :yep

Interesting. It was probably in the fifth or sixth round.

Nice thread SR. Let's keep it going a while longer.

I thought Mohammed Abdullaev hurt Cotto once in their fight.
