I liked this in color,i could see better the reactions of Louis and his footwork. But i will say that i can't understand how you have people comparing this fat tomato can with david Tua please... Tua would have destroyed this fat man in 1 or 2 rounds. The final was epic. What a beating took
Color didn't exist when Joe Louis was champion. The world was in black and white. why has the footage been vandalized in this way!
Conn was very easy to catch in this bout I don`t know why people tought he gave Louis trouble at all, could Roy Jones have done better against Louis if he was in this ring and the same age as Conn was here? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDLrBLsB8ZQ33q31WjGDG7w
Elusive Blue These two look far better in colour, how good was Walcott`s lead hand in this bout? He constantly feints Marciano here: This content is protected
Elusive blue is the same account as Dbrown and they do look better in color...think people would have more respect for the black and white era guys if they were in HD color
Everything looked better then. From the fighters' boots, trunks (one colour for the shorts, one for the bands), gowns, the seconds' attire, the gloves, the ring canvas, the ropes, the corner posts. Lovely and minimalist. That's why all the great boxing prints (I have the famous Cerdan-Zale right hand) are from that era(ish) and look so good. Think Ali-Liston or Ali-Williams too. Perfect photography with nothing competing with the fighters for your attention. Nowadays, the ring apron is a billboard, as are the fighters; trunks (skirts), boots, gloves, hairstyles. Garish and crass. Anyway, I digress. How good does Joe's lead look? Not very although two minutes doesn't give you long to make a judgement. That said, it was long enough to make me realise that Rocky was a brute with his head. How many headbutts? Tyson would have bitten his head off. But Joe's lead here looks to be all smoke and mirrors. Like Joe himself, it moves around a lot but doesn't actually do that much. It seldom lands and when it does, there's no snap on it as Joe is retreating, I find Walcott quite an irritating fighter to watch because of all the superfluous footwork and hand-shuflling. Not sure how effective it was for him - he had a fine career so it can't have hurt too bad - but, for me, his best moments came from him being more direct.
