What are the fights for which you had it all wrong without excuse? For my part : Saunders vs Saunders: I had Lemieux favorite and I saw him win by KO against BJS who had not been brilliant against Eubank. Chocolatito vs Rungvisai I and II: I looked at Wangek's record and I said to myself "he's going to go from Thai level to the world elite, it's going to shock him."
It's not about the wrongs It's about the rights, which also happen to be easier to remember especially if you rooted for the underdog.
Teo vs Loma I thought this fight was way too early for Teo. Didn't expect Teo to win a clean decision, though Loma's gameplan was very questionable. Teo vs Kambosos Kambosos was coming off 2 SD wins against career featherweight Selby and Mickey Bey. No way did I think he had a chance. Again though, Teo's gameplan was questionable. Broner vs Maidana Even though Broner had questionable wins against Paulie and Ponce De Leon, they were hyping this guy like he was the next Mayweather.
I guess you didn't see that he was a champion previous to the Chocolatito fight. He's always been legit.
I used to do better at picking fights. Today I can be wrong a lot of the time and I am not sure why. I am not analyzing the younger fighters well now. I guess when I was young I put more thought into it. I am not sure why I am not as good as picking winners.
Some regional bias on my part, but I genuinely thought Custio Clayton had the skills needed to trouble Jaron Ennis, extend him and maybe even pull the upset. Of course, Boots tightened up his footwork and defense, and then worked the jab brilliantly to create the opening for the early KO. Going back in time, I was convinced that Michael Watson would give Mike McCallum hell. That...didn't happen.
Yeah, Rung could've won the rematch but he continued to switch hands, seems like he has gone missing along with his career as he is never talked about or even mentioned anymore, sad, Hope after he get's active he can go for the big rematches, their division itself is barely highlighted even though they continue to have some of the best matches like the old days.
Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson I thought Shakur was gonna win 7-5 or maybe 8-4, but I never expected Herring to get outclassed that bad.
