    Benn - Jones

    Michalczewski - Jones

Jones would have won both fights clearly.

Hopkins should have accepted the 60/40 split it was more than fair.

By that time Roy Jones already beat Hopkins clearly in 1993.

Roy Jones had been the Middleweight, Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion. Whereas Hopkins was only Middleweight Champion.

    By that time Hopkins had

Glen Johnson (who was a nobody in 2002)
    John David Jackson
    Keith Holmes
    Felix Trinidad

    Roy Jones had

    James Toney
    Montell Griffin
    Thulani Malinga
    Reggie Johnson
    Thomas Tate
    Jorge Castro
    Eric Harding
    Bernard Hopkins
    Virgil Hill
    Merqui Sosa

Like I said 60/40 split was more than fair. Hopkins ducked Jones in 2002.

Boxing missed out on a lot of good middleweight matchups in the early 90s.

Whether it was promoters not wanting to deal with Don King, management protecting fighters, HIV (for Lamar Parks), etc....we didn't get nearly as many good matchups as we should've considering the deep talent pool.

Check out The Ring's ratings and how much talent there was.

    1992:

    Title Vacant
    1. Julian Jackson
    2. James Toney
    3. Reggie Johnson
    4. Roy Jones Jr.
    5. Mike McCallum
    6. Sumbu Kalambay
    7. Gerald McClellan
    8. Lamar Parks
    9. Bernard Hopkins
    10. Thomas Tate

    1993:

    Title Vacant
    1. Roy Jones Jr.
    2. Gerald McClellan
    3. John David Jackson
    4. Reggie Johnson
    5. Julian Jackson
    6. Thomas Tate
    7. Lamar Parks
    8. Bernard Hopkins
    9. Vinny Pazienza
    10. Otis Grant

Roy Jones Jr v Dariusz Michalczewski

Don't know if it was ever in the works at all, but would have loved to have seen Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson v Tim Austin

I agree. Apparantly, there was 10 million in the pot back then. When they eventually fought for the second time, they made nowhere near that.
