Well, last night palyed out pretty much as expected. Manny Pac, a fighter with skill and speed that Margo could never hope to compare to, was dominated and completely outclassed.

I think this fight (and the Mosley fight even moreso) show us once and for all, what type of fighter Antonio Margarito is:

A glorified club fighter with a big heart to take alot of punsihment, but whose accomplishments now have a serious dark cloud over them.

Margarito is never going to be able to fight at the elite level again, and in truth, he never really had the stuff to do so. Sure, he is tough, but it takes more than that to fight at the top level.

Everytime he has stepped up in class, he has lost, the sole exception being the Miguel Cotto fight. And with the handwrap scandal that erupted after the Mosley fight, this win in particular is very much called into question.

It is difficult to believe that the Mosley fight was the only fight in which he attemtped to cheat. Also, taking into account the the physical damage imparted on Cintron, Cotto, and Lujan (who nearly had his ear taken off), it seems impossible to think that something wasnt going on.

Here is what we do know: Without his wraps, Margo is 0-2 with one KO (and his corner should have stopped it last night) against world class opponents. And he has taken such vicious, violent beatings in those 2 losses, that his confidence is surely at an all time low, as he now knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is not an elite fighter, and will never be able to deal with top level opponents.

Also, I know he has many fans on here, but they must face the truth. He may have a come forward "exciting" style, but against the top dogs, it will only get him more violent beatings. Alot of his toughness and offensive acumen has not been put into serious doubt due to the attempted cheating.

He can't take anymore beatings like last night. And he also can't fight any of the top guys at 147 or 154. They will all dish out serious beatings to him, and they may wind up causing permanent damage, which, Margo fan or not, no one wants to see.

So here now, is the fina verdict: MArgarito is a fighter who really relies only on his ability to take punsishment to get him through fights now. He had the handwraps awhile ago, but now, that crutch has been taken from him, and he can no longer compete in any serious way.

Whether you believe he knew or not, that is up to you. But I believe he knew, and I believe he had wanted to have an edge against fighters he knew were better than him.

And even if he didnt know, then that means that he has all the heart in the world, but no brains.

    Kinda like how he fights.

So, here now, is the end of Antonio Margarito. The best he can hope for is being a disgraced name on the resume of upcoming prospects. And really, who wants to see that?

Antonio Margarito: Another sad tale of boxing corruption gone awry.

Let me guess, you expected Margo to win?

If so, then please let me know why?
