Manny looked pretty puffed up at the post presser- his ear was screwed too.

Great fight, should have been stopped much earlier by Cottos corner IMO- its not cool to be stopped 2 minutes before the end!

Cotto won 4 rounds? He won 1 round. He might have won 2 or 3 had the knockdown not occurred in a round he was doing so well in. He definitely did a little better than a round by round scoring might represent. But the 2nd half was a done deal with Cotto taking a lot of punishment.

He won the first, lost the second badly, maybe did enough to have the third even, then lost the 4th clearly.

The fight was almost a formality after that. That uppercut was devastating.

Nah i agree with you. If Cotto fought the way he did at the end (on the backfoot) but with a face that wasn't so marked up, the referee would of allowed it to continue. Cotto's face and the fact that he was back pedalling were the main reasons why the referee stopped the fight.

Shane mosley landed cleaner and bigger shots on Margarito constantly, and his face was no where near like Cottos. Cotto just gets marked up very easily, like Hatton. Pac gave him a beating but his face at the end doesn't tell the full story.

it was the same uppercut they had been practicing that had roach's mitts fly twice in the gym.

I agree with you man the first 4 rounds were very exciting to watch. Cotto should have been in a decent position to win the fight if not for the knockdowns. Both knockdowns came in rounds where he dominated. I'd love to see a rematch between these two. Cotto should have been more careful at the end of the rounds because that's where he got tagged the most. At the end of every round, Pacquiao began to flurry at Cotto, hoping that Cotto would exchange and get caught with a big punch, which is exactly what happened. Cotto should have just avoided Pacquiao when he began throwing punches in bunches, let him gas out and then jump on him in the late rounds, but he decided to get involved in exchanges early, which obviously favored Pacman because of his speed, and the second knockdown hurt him so badly that he wasn't the same for the rest of the fight. Good day fellas:hi:

Totally agree !!!! I think Cotto never really recovered from that shot ...altho he landed a serious counter bout round 9 or 10 ...but too little too late ...im a Cotto fan and i applaud Manny ....

Definitley sour. His face had less to do with the stoppage and moreso his actions in the ring for the last 4 rounds. He was running and trying to survive. the body language was saying Cotto was a beaten man and that is why the fight was stopped...and why his corner was looking to stop the fight in the 9th.

Cotto is mentally shot, he paniced in there and didn't fight his fight. I would not like to see a rematch, I like Cotto but if he's going to continue fighting he needs to get his mental focus and strength back. He just didn't look confident in there.
