Actually, the Rahman-Lewis rematch clause was somewhat looser. Rahman did not necessarily have to give Lewis an immediate rematch. In the clause, Rahman had the choice of taking an alternative fight (with Rahman's Undisputed Heavyweight Championship on the line), on the condition that the winner must face Lewis next. That is why there was actually a lot of talk about a Rahman-Tyson fight during the summer of 2001.

Of course, Rahman turned down the offer to fight Tyson, and ended up taking the immediate rematch with Lewis in the fall of 2001. From here, the rest is history...

When I really got into boxing, Hopkins vs Jones Jr was the Mayweather/Pacquiao back then. Arguing over weight and purse splits and by the time the fight went down I didn't care anymore. I still haven't seen the rematch.
