The Five Worst Heavyweight Title Challengers?

Even Ross was better than the raw stats suggest. He had beaten the lining snot out of Marvin Hart, and lost on a foul Golotta style.

It is the sort of challenge that looked sensible at the time, and seems silly in hindsight.

 

Joe "King" Roman - absolutely the worst
Terry Daniels - cool dude, bad fighter
J P Koopman - He made the next two look like top contenders
Richard Dunn - I give him credit, he really, really did try
Brian London - bless his little heart, but that "lantern chin" really stuck out

 

No, he wasn't.

They keep records for a reason.

And don't pretend Hart was much better than you local bar room brawler.

I don't count Kayode, Okhello, Zyglewicz, Ramos as genuine title challengers.

Kayode may have been terrible but Ortiz isn't the WBA Champion. He's the Interim. Wlad is the WBA Champion.

Daniels maybe on the level with Ferg and washed up Dokes.

 

Boxrec states that its statistics/records aren't always accurate. They aren't complete for a number of modern fighters. Don't expect them to be complete for fighters competing 100 years ago. Its software just cross-references names.
