    I've heard Lloyd Marshall threw the odd fight, which ones I'm not sure.

    I believe it came up in court, I will see if I can find the article; it was in a late 80s American mag on famous fixes.

    I'm not insisting on proof for all of them (sofrt of?), I just have a lot of issue with the Seldon fight. It was the oddest heavyweight fight I've ever seen. Tyson breathes on Bruce, Bruce goes down. Bruce gets back up, Tyson looks at him and Bruce does the fonzbury flop. Just a strange strange fight. It's been one of those boxing "WTF?" issues for me and I was hoping somebody could could ease my mind with some sort of answer.

    Guess not :lol::lol:

    maybe Marciano-Walcott 2 , ali-liston 2 , maybe even ali-liston 1.
    also some of carnerra's fights.
    i think some of holyfield's and last fights as well , and some of valuev's in general .
    the ring was well fetched in ali-foreman wasn't it ?

    Regarding Gans vs vs McGovern;

    As Gans is dropped numerous times over the rounds (two and three if I'm not msitaken, maybe I'm wrong) why does he keep getting up? And surely it would've mattered which round he went down in?

    Can somebody clear this up please?

    Both the Ali-Liston fights were highly suspicious.

    The second Ali/Liston match was shortly assassination of Malcom X.

    There were rumblings of Black Muslim bull**** prior to the rematch, it isn't a coincidence there was a record low attendance for a HW championship fight that night.

    Liston trained hard for the rematch, as evidence in his weight and appearance. Shortly before the fight he more then likely hears the same circulating rumors as everyone else about the Black Muslims.

    Come fight night Liston says "**** it", as would most, and gets out of the arena before he gets the Malcom X, riddled with a dozen plus bullets treatment.

    Eh. Not quite so elaborate when you think about it and know the time period. Occam's Razor blahblahblah.

    And beyond that, how about George Godfrey?

    Within 2 days shy of a year he was DQ'ed three times. One time against, suprise, Primo Carnera.

    Godfrey had four other DQ losses as well. Maybe he just loved speed balling guys in the balls, but I'm leaning towards some kind of bull**** there.

    Can't think of too many scarier prospects back then SHW sized, Foreman punching like black fighter, and thats what Godfrey was.

    I'm surprised no one has mentioned Gavilan-Graham. The fighters would not have been fixed, but supposedly the judges were. I think fixing the officials might have been more common than fixing the fighters, given the number of hard to understand decisions over the years.

    According to a Sports Illustrated article I read, the FBI provided a Senate Investigating Committee with evidence that six of Sonny Liston's early ko's were fixed.

    Don King's "Tournament" on ABC in the 70's was under suspicion as I recall reading somewhere.Wasn't the entire tournament canceled due to rigged ratings by the Ring Magazine?

    i'm with you on this. i've heard no real proof that gans threw the fight other than his word. and i'm sorry but if i lost to a fighter i surely wasn't supposed to, coming up with a fixed fight theory is one way to save face
