http://www.thesportcollective.com/the-floyd-void-mayweather-boxing-manny-pacquiao/2011/07/ Love your Eastside Boxing site. Feedback on our Mayweather piece appreciated in our comments section. Cheers
this piece lost all credibility with two lines: -"a controversial split decision victory over Oscar De La Hoya in 2007" (but then goes on to say no opponent has been able to trouble Floyd in the ring) and -(Floyd's) "legacy as a genuine hall of fame fighter is far from secure" I had to stop reading about halfway thru.
Why is it so hard for people check their facts before they make comments. Tszyu had to get surgery for an injury at the time Floyd entered his weight class. Then Tszyu was suppose to beat Hatton and Floyd was suppose to beat Gatti. Guess what, that leads the way to a unification bout. Floyd held up his side. Tszyu didn't and then immediately retired. So how does that translate into Floyd avoided him? On top of that Floyd called out Tszyu at one of his post fight interviews. But think what you think. Haters gone hate. You and me both. Floyd was a guarantee first round hall of famer even before he became a welterweight. The writer pretty much lost all credibility with that statement. You wanna write a quick piece criticizing Floyd's decisions in his boxing career, fine. But don't try to down play his accomplishments.
Yeah, and no formal offer was ever made from Tszyu to get that fight either. But it's all on Floyd to make every fight. No one else should have to do anything.
You and I both Writers try so hard to discredit Floyd that they are blinded by their own bias. People forget Floyd agreed to a smaller ring, 8oz gloves and $10 million dollar fine per pound he came in overweight. Yet Pacquiao can't do random drugs testsing? Get the **** outa here
