Good shout, RJJ hit that guy with everything, and Clinton never was seriously hurt. Even when they stopped it, he wasn't even dazed, he just couldn't throw anything back.
Lou Bogash - only knocked down once in over 100 fights (fought against great fighters like Louhgran, Tiger Flowers, Greb, Walker, McTigue, etc.) Bruno Arcari - just stopped twice on cuts early in his career, never knocked down Duilio Loi - never knocked down in 126 fights ( against great fighters like Ortiz, Perkins, Manca, Visintin, etc.) Vince Dundee Charley Burley Fidel LaBarba Manuel Ortiz Willie Joyce
Max Baer. 86 career fights and stopped only once for the count - and this was against ATG HW Joe Louis. And even then, Baer was conscious - more mentally beaten than anything else. He had an IRON chin, one of the best of all time.
Nigel benn Hamed Pacquiao, will get stick for the lance fight but during his peak his chin was awesome Mayweather, only down once vs Judah- amazing
Sixto Escobar, Baby Arizmendi, Juan LaPorte, and Billy Graham all went their entire career without hitting the canvas; and each of them fought at a world class level throughout the majority of their campaigns a pro boxer.
I second this. He's one of the few fighters that I can remember who I have never seen hurt to the head. Bhop (a middleweight) never hurt him, mayweather, pacquiao just beat him up but he wouldve never gone down. the shots early in his career and against quartey, he was never hurt for more than a split second. he went down and popped back up. Ill be honest though, it wouldve been interesting to see him take a risk and trade a little with trinidad just to see how it wouldve held up. I think he wouldve taken it well and he wouldve gotten the better of the exchanges anyway. Toney, I remember was knocked down against reggie johnson or someone I think back in the early 90s. From what I remember it was a nice shot and he was a bit cloudy, but after that he went to heavyweight and never got staggered. Also hagler, Ive never seen hurt.
George Chuvalo had a legendary chin and Ali, even through he got sat down a few times, had a great chin. Part of his makeup that is underrated by many.
Neither are forgotten chins, Chuvalo and Ali are both some of the most praised chins of all time. Ali did suffer some knockdowns early in his career, remember he just turned 22 when he beat Liston. Many guys when they are young get knocked down, Margarito was routinely sat on his ass as a teenager, he later came to epitomize a granite chin. Ali had possibly the greatest chin in HW history, he was pretty much impossible to knock down after Henry Cooper.
