League Rather then Tournament: Who in your opinion wins the most fights and why? 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Prime for Prime, Catley and Woodhall met and Catley beat Woodhall sadly judges robbed Glen. There forgotten men, due to the vast talent we've produced at 168lbs these guys get forgotten amongst it all but there fine fighters in there own right. Catley Woodhall Reid Ray Close Henry Wharton David Starie Will post some footage if you need haven't seen these guys fight. Sure most have :good.
I think Wharton vs Catley would of been a war!. Having a good think, Tough ask. Atberry Mr. SMW's i wanna see your thoughts bro :good.
Mr SMW's is not interested because a certain Mr Eubank is not on the list... A league format is tough. I would say they all beat eachother, but for who wins the most fights, i'd go; Reid Woodhall Wharton Catley Close Starie Catley DID beat Woodhall, but tbh i don't think Woodhall was prime. I think he was mentally out of the game by then. Reid and Wharton also fought at the end of Whartons career. I think a prime Wharton gives Reid a lot more problems. Sam Story and Dean Francis could also be in that mix.
Yeah sorry Slip didn't mean to say Woodhall and Catley were prime then. I put Prime for Prime so people don't try match people up at different parts of career. People can do a knockout, would like to see how people felt how all guys did against each other.
Very hard to pick between these as very evenly matched. I'd go Reid Wharton Close Woodhall Catley Starie Might be controversial but I would pick Dean Francis to beat all of these. Catley was a very interesting fighter as he had underrated skills but had a vulnerability about him which may me think he could always lose to lesser fighter. Wharton makes every fight a hard one as he had a great chin and hooked well and had a good engine so he will be dangerous un til the last Starie I think would have a chance with catley depending on which catley turned up but can't seeing him winning any other fights. Reid on his game and switched on takes some stopping and see him as the dominant force with his boxing skills good power and great chin Woodhall was a top boxer with text book amateur skills and left his best days at middleweight cutting weight and wasn't quite the fighter he should of been despite his title reign Close was a very tough fighter who gave eubank all he could handle and Seemed to vanish after the second fight despite winning his next load of fights
Lovely post Fanta :good. Nice shout about Francis as well. I agree i'd stay Starie would finish bottom he just never pushed himself hard enough in fights. Maybe a little unfair on him as he only had 3 weeks prep for Ottke and come in after losing previous fight in SA but he just seemed a talented nice guy. I think the intensity of the others would of been to much for him. Reid the profressional boxer was good, Reid the part time boxer part time model was another thing..
Woodhall was a good fighter in his prime, his fight with Calzaghe was a cracking battle! He was just so stiff and rigid though, he had the archetypal traditional upright British style. Reid was also a good fighter but you just were never sure which one you would get as you say! Not sure how I would rank them I'd probably have to go and re watch a lot of their fights to really offer any sensible input...
